This is a really nice well located central Dublin hotel. It has a fabulous Library Bar which should be famous in its own right. The rooms are pleasant with a modern en suite bathroom and good over-bath shower. There are heaps of eating places around but equally valuable are the two good food stores for when you just want to snack in your room. Good value for money.

First trip to Ireland. Decided on Central Hotel in the Temple Bar area of Dublin. The hip, happening, busy part of Dublin...just perfect for 60 yr. olds!!! The hotel was lovely, and my husband said thank goodness for getting a hotel with a lift (elevator for us USA folks)! Our "suite" was spacious, large bath, nice updated amenities. Almost more room than we needed...

Market (Dunnes) across the street, within walking distance to Grafton St., Trinity College, wonderful shops & restaurants. Don't forget a stop at Bewley's for a great latte!!! Can hear some street noise, but it is Temple Bar for goodness sake-to be expected. Highly recommend-don't bother having a car-very walkable. Kind staff, and would love to return someday.

Our daughter & husband also stayed with us, and had a suite also. FYI...their bath was much like a mini San Simeon...duel sinks, steps up to a large ornate tub w/waterfall shower. Quite lux!!

Room Tip: If you want to avoid street noise, ask for a room on the 3 or 4th floor. Didn't use the fitness...

A group of us stayed here recently, my parents stayed in the suite room and were woken at 5am to the noise of kegs being transferred to the bar. In the morning we requested if they could mind our bags behind the desk while we collected the car. We forgot something out of the bag and very politely asked if we could get it to which the lady behind the desk audibly sighed, looked at us as if what we were asking was a huge inconvenience and in a very aggressive tone said 'FINE'. The cooked breakfasts here also tasted like they'd be fried in old dirty oil. This was my first stay at the central hotel. I've only ever had drinks in the library bar which has always been a pleasant experience, suffice to say i expected more and was left very disappointed.

Centrally located Central Hotel in Dublin, Ireland is close to all of the things that you need to visit while vacationing. It is within walking distance to Dublin Castle, Temple Bar, Grafton Street, the Liffey River and bridges, Christ Church Cathedral, St. Patrick's and the best restaurants and pubs.

Room Tip: Ask if they have a room where there is no middle of the night party noise.

What a brilliantly located hotel this is. Everything going on in the heart of this city is on this hotels doorstep. You come out of the hotel turn left, and walk 20 yards, you are met with the most gorgeous deli called Fallon & Byrne. Cross the road and dublins shops are all there to explore.
The hotel was full of character, very clean, and we got a good deal, so was very cheap. This didnt include breakfast. The staff were great, and the hotel bar was very popular with the locals, which created a great atmosphere.
This is not a complaint as I will stay at the central again in a heart beat, but we were aware of the noise level early hours in the morning by party goers.

Room Tip: If you have a young family, and are staying over a weekend, ask for a room situated away from the f...

We stayed at the Central for 7 nights. The room was clean and always plenty of fresh towels. Beds were fairly comfortable, if you like a firm matress. For the price this hotel lacks a lot of commodities. There is a restaurant on the 1st floor, but only open for breakfast from 7:00 to 10:30. The cost is 10 euros per person and the buffet choices are limited. Your other alternative is the restaurant next door, which can be pricey. We had a room that faced the street and every night at 3:00 am you could predict that the drunks would be yelling and being noisy as they are pouring out of the nearby bars, especially on the week end. There was no mini bar in the room, so if you wanted to purchase something to eat or drink you could not keep it cool. The shower had no pressure to speak of aned the ater was scorchingly hot, until we asked that they fix it, but it went back to being to hot a few days later… Beware if you use the telephone in the room, I was charged for a lot more calls than I actually made, only realizing this when I got home. Location wise it was perfet, located in the city centre and close to sightseeing attractions, shopping and restaurants. The staff was very accomodative and friendly.

Room Tip: Get a room facing the courtyard, rooms facing the street are noisy during the day with traffic and a...

Great hotel, but if you have the chance, first see the room. I stayed here twice, same price more or less and the first time I had a rather huge room with a tub, the second time a small room with a shower. First was value for money, second overpiced. So check. But otherwise a good and friendly hotel in a very central spot. The bar is wonderful!
