Very unfriendly staff, the only nice guy who was working there is gone. I've been going to the bar quite a while with a group of people and we have been kicked out for not spending enough money, they are there for business as they said. Rude manners, high prices and low quality.

A great location, right in the centre of Dublin, a library style bar on the first floor, but do not expect any frills. the rooms are ok, I asked for a quiet room and it was, despite the location. The cold water tap only trickled, and the shower was not very good. The carpet was stained, and the public toilets are worth giving a miss. the continental breakfast is also worth missing. No fresh anything...all in packets, as you would find in your local garage supermarket. There are numerous cafes nearby with excellent breakfasts. Despite all, I still like the hotel, it has a cozy, old fashioned atmosphere.

Room Tip: room 403 was small, but very quiet

Unfriendly staff ... rude bar service ... awful bar food... dirty toilets which you need a special key from the bar to get into... The place needs a power wash and all the staff need to learn people skills in dealing with the public ... do yourself a favour and book somewhere else!

Room Tip: Top tip... don't stay here!

The staff here were impossible to start a conversation with and did not seem interested in our custom at all. Rooms were basic but sufficient for a one night stay. Hotel is excellently located but do not expect a "clad mile failte".

It's an old place (complete with creaky floorboards and slow lift !), but it's location is just perfect.
Stayed 3 nights and with everything within walking distance it could not have been better. Staff friendly, breakfasts very nice, but the one thing that we found irritating was the heat... Our floor 3rd, seemed to be excessively overheated, which crept into the room. This would have been ok during the winter time, but goodness knows what this would be like in the middle of summer??
One of the best hotels we have yet to experience with fast free wi-fi.

The Central Hotel has a bit of history behind, and you can see it inside and outside. But saying that, thats also a bit of a special "Dublin Charme". Its not a Place where I would go with a Girlfriend, but if you visit Dublin with a bunch of (Guiness-Friendly) Friends, than this Hotel has everything you need with an unbeatable price !

We stayed for 1 night in January 2014, and the double room was lovely, spacious, tidy and clean. The bed was comfy, and the bathroom had a long bath. The price was reasonable too, however... we had a room that looked onto the street. The windows are single pane, and the hotel is in the centre of Dublin. I couldn't really sleep well with bin lorries and taxis beeping during the night, so if I were to stay here I would definitely need a room away from the street.

Overall the hotel was very nice, and the staff were okish. We were greeted by a woman who I think was Spanish or Portuguese, she was very nice indeed. However when we checked out, an older woman with grey/blonde hair and pearls was at reception and didn't even ask if we had an ok stay or say thank you or even good bye. She needs trained on the most basic level of customer service, after all my custom helps keep her behind that desk!

Room Tip: Get a room that doesn't face the street
