“Location, location, location!”
Reviewed 24 October 2013

Location, location, location - you could not find a better hotel in terms of location for taking in all the sights of Dublin. Smack right in the heart of the bustling Temple Bar, plenty of bars and restaurants on your doorstep, Halfpenny Bridge right behind the hotel, all the main shopping streets within les than a few minutes walk, bus links for the airport and indeed to travel around the city are situated right at the end of the street (a minutes walk at most), and these will take you to most of the main tourist attractions, i.e. Guinness factory tour, Jamiesons factory tour, Kilmainham gaol (the latter I would very highly recommend!).

Staff are lovely and helpful and breakfast and delicious and plentiful (buffet style for 6.95!). Rooms were basic and a little tired to be honest, but who spends a lot of time in their room when on holiday?! We were in room 305 which was situated at the back so we encountered no noise in our rooms - the only thing that disturbed our sleep was the extremely low temperature in our room! No matter how high we put the thermostat, the room would simply not heat up. We mentioned it to Reception but nothing seemed to be done. However we were only there for two nights so we were not too bothered by this - and in any case, our overindulgence in the Irish Coffees and Guinness' seemed to help us get past this :-)

All in all, would absolutely go back to this hotel and recommend it to anyone.

Room Tip: Ask for a nigh floor room facing the back if you wish be undisturbed by the noise at night.

The hotel was central for visiting local sites and very handy for evening outings. The Hotel was clean and facilities good .Staff were welcoming and really helpful, I would recommend this to a friend,

Room Tip: ask for a quiet room as noise could be an issue due to hotel's location in night life area.

Just had a lovely time at the Temple Bar Hotel. The staff were pleasant and helpful at all times, accommodated other party members with additional dietary needs and were very helpful prior to our stay.

Room Tip: Rooms which don't face the main street it was a little noisy

This hotel has a really good location. Yes it's noisy, but we still managed to sleep well in our second floor front facing room. It's Temple Bar for goodness sake, so if you don't like a little noise, don't stay here. What you do get if you stay here is a nice hotel that provided a spotlessly clean, comfortable rooms with helpful, friendly staff. We were made very welcome and they couldn't do enough for us. The breakfast could do with a re-think though - too much fried food and not enough variety in the continental breakfast range. Bar prices were very expensive, even for Temple Bar, but it was easy enough to find somewhere to eat/drink within a short walk. Husband loved it and would stay again. I can't agree as I didn't feel completely safe in the room. The door had obviously been forced at some point and not repaired properly. The wifi was iffy, and the three inch gap at the bottom of the bathroom door was a definite negative. Having a room full of steam from the shower isn't very nice. Questionable whether we would stay here again.

my fourth visit to this hotel september 2013, went with a friend as my husband was on his annual golf trip!,
Just can't fault the hotel, location is everything, can walk to all the famous city sites, and the DART where you can explore all the local coast on a 7 euro day rover, Malahide,Howth and Dalkey being favourites.
This visit we were put in a room at the rear, TOO QUIET!!,
I wanted to witness the Temple Bar action for two nights, noise and all!
That is why you book a hotel in temple bar.

Also hats off to changing to buffet breakfast,so much easier,
and if they run out of something, just ask, they are so obliging,my friend was brought a plateful of four sausages!!

Well done, to all the staff and management of the Temple Bar Hotel,

ps coming back with husband, daughter and boyfriend for christmas shopping on November 28th, and looking forward to two really noisy rooms overlooking front street!!

Visited with 5 other couples for our annual trip to somewhere in the World and it was Dublin this year.
Hotel is in the centre of Dublin and on arrival very clean and staff very friendly. We checked in at approximately 10am but could not have our rooms until mid afternoon. This was fine as we could leave the bags at the hotel and go out looking for breakfast at a pub.
When returning to the hotel everything was fine and we had 3 rooms adjacent to each other and the other 3 were close by. The majority of us had the same style room which was adequate, however the couple that booked the room had a very large room even though they paid the same price as us all!
Rooms were clean and tidy however everytime we went back to our room as soon as you went in you could smell drains...once in the room for a few minutes it seemed to disappear but the wife was not happy...other than this the TV didn't work but after informing the reception desk it was repaired/replaced the next day. Linen and towels changed everyday.
Breakfast was buffet style and if you went down after about 9.30am sometimes there would not be a lot left and you had to wait whilst more was cooked.
Noise- Yes it was quite noisy (especially at 3am on Monday night) as this was when the students exit the night club...but what do people expect when you are in the centre of Temple Bar!
On the whole it was a good stay although I thought it was a bit 'off' that we had to pay 1 euro per bag for leaving them at the hotel after we checked out and before out taxi arrived...never had this before and was not happy to pay 3 Euro's for one suitcase and 2 small bags that hung over it....doesn't the hotel make enough money?!

Would we stay there again...yes I think so as it was only a base for the 4 days we stayed there.
