Went to IMMA on a weekend with friends and the place did not disappoint. We were lucky it was very sunny and there were just a few people around. The grounds is a perfect place to just sit and enjoy the sun or in the shade. It's also a dog friendly area where I managed to meet very playful doggies. The Museum itself displays art which can intrigue you or leave you wondering.

See challenging Irish contemporary art that will both inspire and sometimes leave you scratching your head.

The IMMA is in a stunning location and has had millions spent on the gallery. The exhibitions are limited in scope and standard. The national gallery in downtown Dublin has around 14,000 pictures , with a small proportion on display. It would help the IMMA if some of this hidden art is appropriately selected and put on display at the IMMA.

The story of the Royal Hospital is fascinating but it is unfortunate there is no access to the main rooms, for visitors.

The staff in the cafe were brilliant, those on the reception desk were uninterested in helping visitors.

The grounds around the museum are beautiful and the exhibitions are interesting even for someone who doesn't appreciate modern art very much.

Beautiful building and garden but the expositions were not impressive, although that is always a question of taste .
