If you appreciate books and want to see a book that is a true work of art, then you should go and see the Book of Kells. I had been looking forward to seeing the book, and I was a little disappointed in the set up of the first informational room. There were many screens to stop and read however, I could not determine if there was an "order" to the process. My husband and I, unfortunately, followed a large group on a tour into the display room and they sort of took over the room. Our plan for touring those introductory screens became "go wherever the tour group isn't", so I feel sure we missed things. However, the Book itself was not disappointing. It was gorgeous. I was very impressed with the Long Room and the Brian Boru exhibition, as well. Overall, a very nice exhibit.

I'd say it's overpriced & overcrowded. Book of Kells is obviously important artifact but if you are no so interested in history, it will look like just an old book.
Library itself is fascinating, but too many people and stupid posters spoil experience.

The 4 Gospels , in Latin, dating back to the 9 th century and surviving Viking raids through the Middle Ages. Beautiful! Then visit The Long Room, oh my! Gorgeous library dating back to the 1700's

So expensive for what it was. €9 for about 5 minutes of looking.
The architecture is neat. That's about the only value I found in it.
There were so many people standing in the way of the book that you couldn't see much and what you could see was very limited.
The lame modern posters plasted over the interesting library bays ruined the aesthetic of the whole thing.
Not worth the money or wait in line I don't think.

Trinity College Dublin lies in the centre and heart of the city, an oasis of green and tranquillity to walk through, take a picnic in, or do the full tourist thing and visit the Library and the Book of Kells. If you only have time for one thing on your first or only visit to Dublin, make this it. You will not be disappointed. If you can order tickets in advance, this will avoid queues, or visit out of summer season. Not ideal for small children, as you want time to read the details in the exhibition and absorb the atmosphere. Take your time and do not rush though the exhibition area. It is not large, so go slowly, and savour the experience.
