“Amazing!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 July 2014

The Book of Kells is located in the gorgeous library of Trinity College and is a must see even if you are not a big history buff. It's a beautiful illuminated manuscript! Although it's under glass and you can only see two pages it's still really a great thing to see!

“Review at Trinity College”

There are some real good stories to tell from Trinity College.
Fantastic architecture in the old buildings and a contrast to the new.
Visit the old library and of course the national treasure Book og Kelps

“Beautiful Building”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 July 2014

Absolutely stunning architecture and an impressive array of books (albeit not for reading!). I'd say it was priced a little high for a wander around the Book of Kells exhibition, into the library and then straight out into the gift shop!

“Awe inspiring library”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 July 2014

This tour cost us €10 each, and was worth every cent.

The Book of Kells is within the library, which is Ireland's No.1 national treasure.

The Long Room (library) is a fantastically long and high library full of many many old books, with two levels of books and a vaulted wooden ceiling. There are also many busts of famous writers including William Shakespeare.

This library is like something from a movie.

Well worth a visit when in Dublin.

“The Book of Kells, and more”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 July 2014

I visited the old library of the Trinity College first in the 1990s and came back again last summer (August 2013). When I went there for the very first time, there were not so many tourists and I was able to see the exhibition as long as I liked. The highlight is the Book of Kells, a wonderfully illuminated manuscript which goes back to the ninth century. Last year I found a loooong queue which went round and round the building just to enter the library. So you need enough time to see the treasure. What interested me was a set of colourful dye, mostly made by minerals, to be used in the illuminations. There are many more manuscripts to see, from medieval to later days. You must start rather early and stay there for more than half a day.
