“Beauty Over the Ages”
Reviewed 3 August 2014

This is worth the 10 Euros to see the exhibit. Some monks had hand painted the four gospels translated in Latin and it survived all this time. After you view those under glass, you are able to visit the Long Library which is amazing. It is lined with busts of famous people from history in front of the many rows of old books on the shelves. It is a sight to see for yourself. Please be sure to add it to your itinerary. After, I visited the gift shop and purchased some postcards as they capture what we can't.

“Wonderful visit - well worth while to take the tour”
Reviewed 2 August 2014

We arrived at the Trinity College so fed up trying to find a park place in Dublin for 1 hour and were pleasantly welcomed by some students who do the guided tours. It was only 2 euros more to do the whole tour than just to go to the long room & the book of Kels so we signed up and really didn't regret it as our guide gave us so much information with lots of humour & enthusiasm. This is one way for students to earn some money during the holidays so good to support them as they are proud of their university. The long room was wonderful, the book of Kels was so surrounded by people difficult to see but did appreciate seeing this ancient book. Really worth a visit.

“Get there early”

Great history and lovely library. The Book of Kells is impressive but the 3-4 deep across every section made it tough to enjoy. Felt like a herd of cattle being shuttled through the exhibit, so you really never got a chance to absorb the explanations, nor the book. The long room is impressive and has good exhibits you could spend some time reading.

“Interesting”
Reviewed 2 August 2014

A bit pricey. The tour of the library was beautiful. The display leading to the Book of Kells was interesting but we only could see 2 pages of the book once you got into the display room. A to do thing if you are a history or art buff.
