Don't miss the chance to see this--the library alone is worth the nominal fee. Go early in the day or towards the end to avoid crowds.

It’s crowded. Yes. But, I think The Book of Kells and The Old Library more than makes up for it. Plus, most of the people were polite enough to move on when they’ve finished looking.

Let yourself soak in the history, and the panels in the The Book of Kells exhibition will give you exactly that. There are plenty of information, description, down to the very substance which makes up which colour. It’s all very intriguing.

The Long Room in the Old Library was a gem. The only sad part was not being able to be nearer to the books, but that I can definitely understand. I loooove how the books are arranged. It gave us some perspective on how minuscule some of the books are, and how some are quite huge. Definitely take your time in the Long Room. But also rest your snapping of pictures to just look with your own eyes the marvel of that place. It’s really quite grand.

A tip! If you book online, at 8am (or one of the early slots) and 3.30pm, you’ll get a discounted price.

Also, another tip! Take a tour conducted by the students (14Euro, including Book of Kells and Long Room) , they’ll bring you around Trinity College and explain the history, eccentricities, superstitions of Trinity College to you.

An excellent tour of Trinity College finishing with the Book of Kells exhibtion which is very informative. Try to go early as it gets crowded later in the day.

Stunning library, just like being in a movie (well, one cannot avoid resemblance to Harry Potter movies atmosphere). Yes, you have to pay for a visit some 14 EUR and you will not stay that long there, but for me it was worth every eurocent. I loved the wooden corridor of book shelfs and their gift shop is also nice.

Make sure you arrive with lots of time to spend. The old library is amazing! The guards are very knowledgable if you are not one to take a guided tour.
