Peaceful place and terrific array of plants and flowers.Did it in conjunction with glasnevin tour and ran out of time. Such a pity that there isn't direct access from glasnevin into gardens.

Thank anne s

The National Botanic Gardens are utterly delightful and have long been treasured by Dubliners. Just 3.5 km north of Dublin they are easily reached by bus from the city centre. Over 200 years old, they have 20,000 species, many hundreds of which endangered. They are beautifully laid out and ideal for families as well as other visitors. It is free to go in, and is a wonderful place to stroll around the enchanting grounds. The stunning 19th century curvilinear glasshouses house palms, giant Amazonian lilies and a host of other exotic vegetation - it's like finding yourself in the jungle!

This is an excellent attraction and a perfect place to spent an afternoon. The range of plants, trees and shrubs is amazing. The facilities are great and the coffee shop etc. is good for a quick break.

We had often heard or read about the National Botanic Gardens but somehow hadn't been there yet during several trips to Dublin. Finally went there this week - what a great place! It's easy to get there from the city centre by bus (although not all bus lines run too regularly - better check before you travel) and the admission is free! A wonderful place to while away an afternoon and relax after shopping or sightseeing. Especially the Victorian greenhouses are worth visiting, but also the rest is simply wonderful.
