“an oasis in the city and it's free”
Reviewed 5 May 2014

This place is beautiful rain or shine. We went on a whim, but this turned out to be a great spot to visit. There is a small parking lot in the back, that was really hard to find, but once there the place was great. The gardens are free, but it is 2 euros to get out of the lot. They have plants from around the world and many connecting greenhouses in case it is raining. We managed to dodge the raindrops, it seemed to only rain when we were inside. The grounds are wonderful too and I'm sure it is even lovelier later in the growing season. It is a great place to visit and even better that it is free.

“Really surprised”
Reviewed 3 May 2014

Happiness.... we was visiting the botanic garden (as we allways do). This garden, even in the last of april, was VERY beautiful and silent, and oase with water and also "hills". Great value for an quiet experience!

The restaurant looks out onto the gardens and is of a high quality - you are free to walk around all the glass houses

“The most tranquil spot in all Dublin”
Reviewed 29 April 2014

The National Botanic Gardens are north of the city center, but worth the visit if you'd like a quiet spot to clear your mind. The gardens are very well tended and curated, with many types of flora from around the world. It's easy to simply turn a corner and be completely alone, and is therefore a GREAT place for a date :)

Highly recommended to go during weekdays, when the place is even more likely to be deserted.

“Beautiful gardens & free!”
Reviewed 28 April 2014

We walked over to the gardens to take in the beautiful spring flowers. It was definitely worth it, the gardens were blooming in April and there was hardly anyone there.
