It looks like a pub. Feels like a pub, albeit a lovely one. Turns out to be the best fish restaurant for a very long way. Huge range of fish dishes. Make sure you see the specials board.

They do other meat and salad options too.

There is always a queue/wait at lunchtime - that tells you all you need to know.

Thank SirRoy

We had been walking forever trying to find a restaurant that was open on the Bank Holiday when we happened on this delightful seafood restaurant. They were busy but were very welcoming even though we did not have reservations. They sat us at a small table for two, then promptly moved us to "the best table in the house", which had just opened up. The ambience is bright, cheery and very tasteful. They have a large bar and at least four different seating areas, plus an outside patio. We ended up eating here two different evenings, and had superb food each time. We had the mussels, fish and chips, sautéed prawn tails and beef and Guiness pie. The service is as superb as the food and ambience. Just can't say enough good things about this place!

The Merrion hotel recommended this restaurant and made a last minute reservation for us. It was Friday night and thus very busy. The restaurant had us waiting at the bar for a while but always gave us the feeling they hadn't forgotten about us. The food was simply delicious - crab, mussels, prawns and John Dorey - all that with a good Sauvignon Blanc. The place was buzzing and had a great atmosphere to it. If i had one evening in Dublin, this is where i would go.

this was an unexpected treat recommended to us by staff at our guesthouse. the food was excellent and the service top notch; we sat next to the grand piano upstairs and the pianist was fantastic and friendly. Highly recommended!

A taxi driver recommended this as a "good" place to eat. What an understatement. We ate here on our last day of our Ireland visit. We walked in without reservations and were seated in about 5 minutes. There were six of us and all were impressed and satisified with this experience.
Most of us had fish. I had the Hake and it was probably one of the best meals I have had.
Were we to be in Dublin longer, I am sure we would have gone a second time.
