An excellent way to be welcomed to any city. On our first day in Dublin, we met David (a 20 something, personable, retro kind of guy) at the Little Museum of Dublin and decided to head off to the Porterhouse for our chat. If you like beer and excellent pub food, GO THERE (separate review).

We had a lively and robust discussion with David about our planned itinerary, what to keep, what to drop and what to add. He had wonderful insights that allowed us to refine our plan. In turn, we discussed some finer points of American sports. ; )

Please note that the Celtic Whiskey shop is close by and makes a great souvenir stop.

I highly recommend this experience and wish it was offered in other cities.

We met Simon for a coffee at Bewley's Oriental Tea House, one of the oldest in Dublin, in late June. It was a really cool coffee house and Simon was great - so friendly and gave lots of helpful tips and suggestions about what to do in Dublin. We met for about 45 minutes, so it's a quick meeting but a great way to get introduced to the city. Highly recommended!

I would recommend this service to anyone going to Dublin! Our ambassador was wonderful and very fun! He gave us good advice of where to eat and where to go! This was a great free service that made Dublin one of my favorite stops on our trip! A MUST!

We spent about 2 hours with our Ambassador, Derek, and would highly recommend this to anyone coming to Dublin for the first time. This is a free service and is such a friendly offer to newcomers. Derek took us to the Merrion Hotel where we got to sit outside on a beautiful terrace, sip a nice glass of wine/beer and enjoy their homemade soup and Irish soda bread. Derek gave us so many tips and tricks to best enjoy our stay all over Ireland. We are taking advantage of his dining suggestions (we went to the Brew Dock last night) as well and cost-saving ideas. He knew I was a photographer and gave us lots of suggestions of where to go to capture the best of Dublin. It was a fantastic way to spend some time outside learning about the best way to travel around Ireland.

We met with Dublin Ambassador Brian on June 2nd. He was a joy to visit with and had a broad knowledge of Dublin and the surrounding area. We appreciated the time and effort he put into our meeting and it deepened our appreciation for this fascinating region.

Your City of a Thousand Welcomes program is an excellent idea that personalized our visit to Dublin and left us with fond memories. We hope to return for a longer visit.
