“Comfortable and did the job!!!!!!”
Reviewed 15 October 2011

We stayed here October 2011 for 4 nights. If you are looking for 4 or 5 star hotels then don't book but for a place to sleep and rest your head it was well worth the money after a night dinking as the drink is expensive enough. The staff were very helpfull and the hotel was clean. Yes a bit updating needed but it is a very old building. The hotel was very central and we were in walking distance of everywhere we planned to visit in Dublin. Our hairdryer in the room was broke but after this was mentioned to the lovlel lady on reception she imediatley gave us a one to use.
The room was clean every day. Thank you to the staff for a friendly stay here.

Room Tip: Ideal for a room to lay your head and sleep after a full day out and about. No lifts due to age of t...

OMG guys.. myself and my friend where going to a gig in Dublin City last nite and came across this hotel and it was only 40 euro for the nite so we thought great.. cheaper than a taxi home... OMG if something seems to good to be true that's cos IT IS !!!!!!!! Now granted it was a warm day yesterday but when we got into the room it was like walking into a sauna.. the curtains were closed already... someone being nice for us... NO they were hiding the big air con vent for the restaurant downstairs as well as all the vines that were all over the window so you could not open the window.. then there was a bathroom that was in like a seperate part of the room tru a door down a few steps and then it was there to be met by a window now that wont shut with bars on the other side and more vines and shrubery etc.. and I am TERRIFED or anything crawly and the toilet seat was right hear so to p (sorry for being crass) u had to sit with your back to this window NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO god knows wot wud come in...

Anyway we headed out for the nite thought it wouldn't be too bad when we got back as we'd have a few drinks on us but OMG it was TEN TIMES WORSE!!!!!!!! we took out the spare pillows and there was blood stains on them YES!!! so eventually we lay down and tried to get some sleep but it was so uncomfortable u wudn't believe we were dripping it was that warm and not one bit of air getting into the room never mind air con.. so we ended up getting up at 6.30 am and leave to go home.. which ruined what was a good nite!!

SEriously don't stay here unless u bring your own air con with u!!1

if a price seems t ogood to be true guys thats cos it is!!!!!!!

Room Tip: Thre are no good rooms!!!!

Stayed here 3 nights in August on the misses Birthday.

Pros:
Location
Goof amenities near by
Price
Friendly staff
Clean
Private balcony (room 11)
Good shower
Wi-fi

Cons:
Mattress was a tad spongey for me
And not good for people who have trouble with stairs

Apart from the mattress the hotel was excellent for the price you pay, no mould or excessive street noise and room was cleaned daily.
Would happily stay here again.

Also lots of cheap places to go for lunch and dinner in this area, receptionist recommend the larder sorta opposite which had a steak night offer €10 and I have to say the steak I had is on my top 5.

Upon arrival we inspected the assigned room and discovered the following:

• there was a disturbing sewage smell from the bathroom
• the shower was not functioning properly and there was no hot water at all
• there was dust everywhere on the carpet as if it had never been vacuumed
• there was a bunch of long human hair inside one of the duvets inspected
• there was a black insect walking on the sheet under another duvet
• there were big cracks on the walls

Because the hotel was in such a horrible state we decided not to stay in it and asked for our money back. We were confronted with a rude manager who refused to give us a refund.

My advice is never use advance purchase to pay for any hotel, otherwise you will not get your money back. This place is so extremely dirty that I would not recommend it to anybody.

Travelled to dublin with 12 other girls for a birthday weekend and wanted to stay somewhere near temple bar so booked the bridge house, was really worried after reading some of the reviews right up until we arrived when i was pleasantly surprised, all we wanted was a clean warm bed to sleep in and a clean bathroom to get ready and that is what we got if you want the ritz then i'm afraid your gonna have to pay the high prices but if you want somewhere cheap and close to all the bars then the bridge house is the place to be, we will definately stay here again on our next trip to dublin.
