I have just returned from Ireland, after visiting relatives in Limerick.
We chose the ballsbridge due to the proximity to the ferry terminal and was a little disappointed.
The room was clean but was tatty for the price. Exposed pipes on the wall, sockets that don't work and an aerial cable hanging from the wall, didn't bode well. Add to this a poorly maintained bathroom, with various holes in the tiles filled with silicone and broken brackets still fixed to the wall. The room was very warm when we arrived and the window only opened 3". The lack of air con made for a restless night due to the temperature in the room. Wifi is free for twenty minutes, in the lobby, after this it has to be paid for, at a cost of €7.50 per 24hrs. This didn't work, however the reception did give me a refund but this left my son a little unhappy.
You have to pay €10.50 to park your car, if you can find a space. I feel that parking at such a hotel should be free for guests.More
