If you are short of time, MAKE the time. Do not miss this excellent museum. This place will really amaze you, even if you don't really do museums.

“Free and well presented”

It is just 100 meters from the Princess Cruise shuttle drop off point. Good museum store. You can spent a half hour or a half a day.

“well worth a visit”
Reviewed 27 May 2014

Housed next door to Leinster House the home of the Irish parliament and the former mansion of the Dukes of Leinster, the museum has striking exhibits from Neolithic to modern times. Magnificent Early Irish Christian artifacts include the Ardagh Chalice, the Cross of Cong, the original Tara Brooch, reliquaries of gospels and other Christian relics, probably unsurpassed in Europe. Wonderful setting and lots of excellent restaurants and first class shops within walking distance.\st Stephen's Green with its ponds and wonderful gardens just a minute away.

“A Must Stop!!!”
Reviewed 27 May 2014

I always stop in for a visit here. The staff are so helpful and knowledgeable. The building itself is a work of art. If you stand in center of foyer you can hear your voice echo. A must see is the treasures, bog people and everything on 1st floor. Then head up to second floor. The café is one of my favourite places to eat and is large enough for a group. Food is great. The gif shop has a great selection and best of all the prices are very good. If your are in Dublin... don't miss this stop.

“Very good”
Reviewed 27 May 2014

The bog people are just awesome to look at and all the heritage is wonderful. The exhibits bring the items to life and if you are interested in this sort of thing then you will love this place. If not, then you will be very bored very fast. My brother and I could have spent all day there, but my son way bored after a few minutes. Not really a great place for small children. If you do decide to bring your kids please keep an eye on them as when i was there some woman was there with her kids and they were all over the place knocking into the exhibits and pulling and prodding at things. It was very off putting.
