We visited the hotel for five nights over St Patricks Day. The accommodation was first class. Everything you expect from a Great Western. Food was 5 star as was service from both Greg and Frederick. You have to meet them to believe them! Free wifi was a bonus!

Perhaps not the most salubrious of locations (on the edge of an industrial estate) but very easy tram link into the city centre making this hotel excellent value. Didn't use the spa as they charge an extra €3 per swimming hat that are compulsory in the pool. Breakfast service was very efficient, sometimes almost too quick, and felt a bit massed produce but there is a choice and was acceptable. Our second floor room had an attic style ceiling so we had to be cautious about banging our heads when on that side of the room. Good size room and ensuite. Could (just about) hear the live entertainment on Saturday night from room but Friday night was not a problem. Also lifts were out of service when we came to leave so had to cart our bags down two flights of stairs.
Plenty of free parking.

Room Tip: If worried about banging your head, request a first floor room (i.e. middle floor)

We stayed here for two nights and the value for the room was very good. The rooms themselves are dated in their decor; the hotel is very, very dated and the furnishings are so busy the corridors could induce a headache. That being said, it is a very minor gripe. The staff are really lovely and helpful and the bar is nice - not too busy (we were there on a Thursday and Friday night) - and we ate there too and the food was pretty good. I had the chicken curry and it was really good but the poppadom was really oily (just don't eat it!).

The leisure centre needs some work. It's grand but the pool has loads of hydrotherapy areas that aren't working (the buttons are broken and the fountains are not switched on); the water could be a little warmer as well. It's nicely done though, it just needs freshened up. The changing areas are clean, basic and secure. No more than you need really - make sure you bring towels from your room. We had no trouble getting fresh towels or anything like that. This was a nice place to stay if you are looking for somewhere clean, safe and affordable but with access to town.

I was totally underwhelmed by breakfast. It just wasn't great - at all. Coffee is very weak and watery, bacon supposed to br crispy but it wasn't. poppy seed bagels had no poppy seeds and the fruit was not good.

Room Tip: We had a room near the back of the hotel and it was nice and quiet.

The hotel was great for what we wanted to do on our trip which was explore Dublin. 2 min walk from Luas red line and 20 mins into the centre. Considering how cheap it was it was brilliant and rooms were comfy and clean. The only thing was that we had to wear swimming hats in the pool!?

Great value for what u pay for, the room price is fair only around £50 a night and you get to use the leisure centre.
Reception and bars are great, the bar staff need a change as heard them being grumpy and complaining of hours - get a different job if you don't like the hours.
Bar and entertainer was really good. Would love the bar to stay open a little later to have a drink after being in the bars in town.
The room was fine, ceiling a little low as banged head by window. Shower needs updating and toilet seat kept falling down.
The leisure centre was ok but needs updating. Absolutely stupid rule on wearing hats! In the pool. I've worked in many pools as a swim instructor and this rule died many years ago. Don't know why you need a hat filter systems and chemicals kill all of those problems so do everyone a favour and drop this rule. Sauna and steam room and jacuzzi are great. Would not use this centre as a member as sounds like a few problems from over hearing some of the members.
Would be good to build a link between the hotel and leisure centre rather than walking outside.
Overall good location as close to Kylemore Luas tram station straight into the centre 15mins.
Would use this hotel again :)

A weekend break for my daughters birthday. Hotel was great good location a short stroll from the luas tram and bus route in and out of Dublin city centre. Buy a bus pass at the airport (a little cheaper £24 each) for a hop on and off, we bought the 3 day pass and it was well worth it, that gives you the freedom to use the local buses as well as the airport bus, a great buy. We did have a problem with the guests next to our room late at night for noise but the hotel will sort any problems for you. The hotel has live music every weekend and the bar gets very busy, the nosie level is very good you could not hear the music but we where on the 2nd floor. A little disappointed with the time of the pool and spa, we would have enjoyed an early evening swim after a busy day walking etc (you will need to wear a swim hat 3 euros). The value for our break was excellent b&b £112 euro for 2 for the whole weekend, we just seemed to book at the right time. On average compared to other hotels, restaurants and bars the hotel was competitive on price but Dublin is expensive to eat and drink. Right at the top of the road by the luas tram stop is a Mcdonalds so if your on a budget check it out, plenty of places to eat and drink in Dublin if your prepared to put in the leg work to look for a bargin. The oldest pub in Dublin is in the city centre and worth a visit very quant and the food was very nice and traditional. Dublin castle worth a visit go on the guilded tour no extra money and very informative. Guiness Factory of course worth a visit isn't that why we all go to Dublin? On the whole a great weekend.

Stayed here on Sunday night 2nd Feb 2014 with my husband. Decent hotel but a little worn around the edges. No complaints for the price we paid - €68.10 for a Double Room on a B & B basis. The room was small and the sloped ceiling meant a slight problem for my husband who hit his head a few times but it had all the necessary facilities and the bed while firm was very comfortable. Definitely on a par with an alleged 4 star hotel that we stayed in recently in Carrick-on-Shannon. Very friendly reception staff & breakfast waiting staff. We had a few drinks in the bar and the prices were ok for Dublin - €5.15 for a pint bottle of Bulmers Cider & €4.75 for a pint of Budweiser. Breakfast was very nice with your cooked breakfast being served to the table rather than the usual buffet. We didn't use the Leisure Centre as it was closed when we arrived on Sunday evening so I can't comment on that - it is in a separate building in the hotel grounds so you do have to go outside to access it and bring your towels from the hotel room - the receptionist indicated that the towels would then be changed on your return to the hotel. This hotel is located very close to the Luas line and facilitates easy access to Dublin City Centre but as already stated in other reviews this is primarily a commercial district and there are no shops, pubs or restaurants in this area.

Room Tip: If you are tall make sure that you don't get a room on 4th Floor with sloped ceiling
