“Good location”
Reviewed 15 March 2014

This hotel is in the perfect location for all the shops and short walk from the main pubs in Dublin. Spent two nights just before Paddys day. A well used and showing it,s age hotel with plenty of style. Staff are very professional and welcoming. The rooms are clean and warm, but a bit dated. Although at the rear you are wakened by the cleaning vans at six in the morning and to the front you experience the noise of revellers in the early mornings and late evenings. The breakfast is good and plentiful and well worth having .No Wi-Fi. In all, I would return and revisit this hotel. Which for me is a complement.

I just came back from my two nights stay in this Hotel! I really enjoyed it for the position (really central, just few minutes from main shopping road and a stone throw from the direct aicoach bus from Dublin airport) and for the kindness of the staff. The rooms are really big, bed is good and blankets were clean! Didn't have breakfast in the Hotel but there are plenty of cafés nearby where you can have a very good one! Toilet and towels were clean. I suffered the heath as the radiator was kept at maximum level when I arrived in the room and I was unable to open the window (don't know if it is the same in all rooms or if it was only in my room, though!) but the second night, I just switched it off. The only down point is that the room was slightly noisy as there is a disco just near the pub.

Room Tip: Ask a room on the opposite side of the Disco or the music will go on until late at night

Arrived to find they did not do any food at night. Went to bar across the road , nice meal there. Room and general decor very outdated and scruffy. Room clean and bed comfy, bathroom shabby and a bit grubby.
Receptionist were friendly and helpful. Great central location and surprisingly quiet at night. No wifi in the room and an antiquated TV. Curtains missing hooks so couldn't draw them properly across window.
Breakfast was very basic and served in the bar area.
OK if you only want a bed for the night and not too fussy on surroundings

Reception software was down when we arrived, luckily they had a paper back up so check in was smooth. We had room 504 which was at the back of the hotel and therefore relatively quiet (we took earplugs anyway as recommended by other reviewers so had no trouble sleeping). Room was a good size and had iron/ironing board and a safe. Bath was a good size/shape and shower water pressure was good. Breakfast was fine. Location was very central with great bars nearby (inc Hairy Lemon just over the road). The only thing that stops me giving the hotel a higher rating is that the decor in the room, particularly the bathroom, is very dated abd faded - in my opinion this is no longer a four star hotel. That said, I would stay again as it was a good value stay for the location.

We stayed here on Saturday night and once again enjoyed our stay here,Alexandra on reception lovely and a delight to deal with for reservations.Rooms very spacious, clean and had a room at back of hotel so slept soundly.Breakfast is selfservice and super delish and tea or coffee served by a lovely girl who came over to see if we wanted a refill. Hotel in a great location and we are looking forward to returning in may with our family to celebrate my husbands birthday.

Room Tip: ask for room at back of hotel

This was a girlie break and it was so good! We only had a couple of nights,so we needed to be smack dab in the middle of Dublin. The staff were so helpful and warm and food was good! Great value altogether!
