McGettigans Cookhouse and Bar is a bit off the beaten track, but it is definitely worth the visit. There is an openness and freshness feel to McGettigans, that seems to be lost in a lot of the bars in Dublin, from the minute you walk into McGettigans, you feel welcomed. We decided to visit McGettigans as I had heard good reviews and we were not disappointed. We ordered drinks prior to our meal, which were brought to our table, where upon we asked our barman Keith, what would he recommend, which was the sirloin steak, we both ordered same, medium with the Jameson black pepper cream. They were cooked to perfection and served with triple cooked chips. We had Creme Brulee for desert, which cracked when the spoon hit it. Overall our first visit to McGettigans was one we both enjoyed and it won't be long till we return, to sample something else off the menu. McGettigans might be a bit away from the usual bars that Dublin has to offer, but it is one that I would recommend very highly.
