Booked earlier that day and arrived @7pm with 7 hungry Irish lads. Sat before Xmas. We were looking for somthing cheap to mid-price with reasonably good reviews and close to the pubs. Spice of India fitted the bill and lived up to the reviews.. Food was excellent, every bit as good as many more expensive restaurants in town and the staff were excellent too even if they were quite busy. Good atmosphere, mixed crowd couples and bigger groups. Decor basic but not in bad way as inside was very warm and comfortable on a cold night. Definitely will be back with wife and friends. €225 for 7 including 2-3 large cobra beers each (early bird back page of the menu book).... Very good value overall and happy to leave a decent tip.

First off, I love Indian food. Maybe we are spoiled for choice in Galway with some very good Indian restaurants but I was in Spice of Inidia on South William Street last month and I think the only thing keeping this business viable is its central and busy location.

The atmosphere is poor. The food was ok, but that's all. Not really a whole lot to say but it's not good when two dishes look the same AND taste the same but one was chicken madras ans the other was a lamb curry.

If you're a fan of Indian food my advice is you'll find better elsewhere.

This restaurant serves excellent food but it is very overpriced. Euro 70 for 2 side dishes, 2 main dishes with rice and Naan. The house wine had to be returned as it was little more then Vinegar. Go for the food - flee from the prices. Friendly staff in a good location.

the staff and taste of food delicious, missing one star because I ordered the King Prawn Byriani which was 20 euros and I only got 3 prawns which to me cost almost 7 per one. I did complain and they gave my husband and i a complimenary drink
