For my 60th Birthday present my daughter rented a tandem bike for us to tour this historic park in Dublin. The 2 guys and Frank (their dog) manning the hire depot were great - friendly and helpful. At last good service has returned to the City! They gave us a Map of the park and off we wobbled! We soon got the hang of riding a deux and although the sun was not shinning the views were stunning - looking across to the River Liffey and over the parkland itself. There were a number of historical sights to take in on our route: the Magazine fort; Wellington Memorial;Cheshire Home; Papal Cross; President's Residence, Aras an Uachtarain. We stopped off at Farmleigh House just catching the tour of the house (free) and were tempted to have a coffee in the boathouse nearby but decided to continue our ride before the rain set in. We gave the zoo a miss. The great thing about a tandem is you can chat away as you ride along. Get peddling!!!
