After reading other mixed reviews and seeing pictures I was sceptical!
It was lovely!!
Bus 16 straight from the airport stops outside the hotel.
The same bus we got on the following day into the city centre. 8 minutes to the airport and about 15 minutes direct to the city centre and stops directly outside the site seeing red bus tourist information centre.

On arrival we asked for an upgrade which was available.
Staff were pleasant and friendly and happy to help with a pizza delivery to the room as we had arrived late.
The room was spacious, biggest king size bed I've ever seen.
The window looked out onto a rooftop (plants or flowers could be put on their to make it more aesthetically pleasing).
A few small cosmetic issues, paint unfinished and shower head came out an unflattering hole in the tiles. I dropped my towel on the floor and it then had hairs over it so more cleaning needed in the bathrooms.

Bar area was welcoming and served a decent meal at a good price.
After a long day site seeing the spa was amazing!
The spa and leisure centre is next to the hotel (seperate building). Brand new and stunning!
The gym was important for my partner who trains in a heavy weight gym, he was particularly impressed with the equipment. The swimming pool was fantastic (although you have to pay €3 for a swimming cap). The staff were friendly and helpful. The changing rooms were clean and contemporary. The sauna was good but the steam room was not working. The jacuzzi was romantically lit and pleasant, however, the small times were all coming off (desperately needs maintenance).

Small supermarket next door and breakfast cafe if you are not having the Irish buffet in the hotel. The hotel is actually situated in a nice affluent area, with nice detached houses around (not seen in photos).

The staff were helpful in giving us a late check out due to a late flight and also offered to store our luggage when we went to the spa.

I would 100% recommend. The more pleasant photos are much more representable of the hotel and I would encourage family and friends to stay there over a shabby b&b in the centre.

Overall, I lovely stay! X

My wife and I were at The Regency Hotel while she was in town for the Play Therapy International conference, so while it was all business for her, it was just fun for my daughter and I.

Dublin is a lovely metropolis, and the Regency not only matches its cosmopolitan feel, it feels as comfortable as a nice warm bowl of stew on a soft evening.

With top notch food and excellent service, and the Dublin vs Mayo Division I Senior match on the numerous screens, I was a happy camper...my daughter was even more easily satisfied with a slice of delicious chocolate cake (and having shared it, I can easily recommend it)...and more than a few lucky fans were able to get autographs from the Mayo team, who were also gracious enough to lose to the home team. ;)

All in all, well met Regency Hotel (and you too, Mayo).

I live near the Regency and have tried to book in for a massage - first time I tried I was phoned back the next day - by this time I had made an appointment elsewhere. Next time I tried I still haven't been phoned back 5 days later - needless to say I booked in elsewhere.
I understand that the lady works on her own but there has to be a better way of dealing with appointments - perhaps by having the Spa reception staff (who never seem that busy) deal with the appointment system. Its a shame as the Beauty Salon is very good, but the appointment system needs to get sorted as otherwise customers like me will just go elsewhere.
