Having been given a voucher and having decided on a birthday treat I was hopeful that this would be as good as reviews suggested. The first thing is that you enter the restaurant directly from the street up a step. This is somewhat disconcerting, as is the tight squeeze into the seats and the cosiness/closeness of the tables. It is however, informal dining so my suggestion is dont be too precious and concentrate on the quality of what you get to eat. We had pork and eel croquettes and the most wonderful arancini as little plates and all that followed did not disappoint. We both ate scallopini and it was truly melt in the mouth veal. A nice wine selection , attentive and freindly staff and service and the a meal to match. I forgot my gift voucher and that means a return trip which I wont leave too long

This restaurant is conveniently located in the city; has a lively, welcoming atmosphere, and delicious food! In particular, I enjoyed the beet root and goat cheese ricotta ravioli and my husband had a most delicious, generously portioned crumbed pork chop! Many other delicious selections on the menu. Enjoy!

Like a previous reviewer we happened upon this restaurant between Merrion Square and St. Stephen's Green because we walked past and noticed a blackboard on the pavement announcing that it had just won Best Casual (or was it 'Informal') Dining in the Irish Food Awards. We gave it a try and couldn't fault the £20 two course set lunch menu. The room and service were unpretentious, but welcoming and the food, serious and of very high quality. Highly recommended.

We found Etto by chance while walking back to our hotel. It is tiny--only 10 or so tables and a few spots at the bar but the food is very good. We shared a delicious risotto with green onions, cauliflower and veal sweetbreads and had one of the best pork chops ever. The food others were having looked equally as good. They had proseco on tap-- which I have never seen before but it was a lovely way to start a meal. The staff is young, friendly and helpful. Etto is definitely worth seeking out for a fun, informal meal.

This restaurant serves expensive food with tiny portions. The food was tasty- but we needed to order sides as we both were still very hungary after having a starter to share. We are 2 slim girls.
The room itself is very plain with too many tables thrown on top of each other. Walls seemed dirty and tables seem old. Very disappointing. Better off going to a high end restaurant that will provide better service and overall better value for money. Dont know what the hype was about.
