Location is excellent if you want to go to the Gaiety theatre or Stephen's Green shopping centre. Hotel very average, a bit tired and shabby with stained carpets in hall and bedroom. Have no illusions, It is budget accommodation. Receptionist quite pleasant and helpful when I checked in around 2.30 ( not her fault that the SMALL reception area was full of laundry waiting to be collected.....a strange welcome!!! )
NOT TRUE that "The hotel itself offers a stylish Cafe/Bar which opens daily for meals from 7am during the week and at 8am on weekends, and a comfortable lounge bar, which also serves snacks and full meals. Both can keep you refreshed after a hectic day or evening out". NOT TRUE!!! The Bell and Pot cafe next door DO NOT offer hot food after 5pm - excerpt on weekends - and are closed at 9pm. I had been looking forward to a drink in the "comfortable lounge bar" on my return at 10pm, and as I was on my own, I didn't want to venture out again into the Dublin night scene. BUT I would stay here again if I had occasion to attend the Gaiety, and the Bell and Pot do an excellent breakfast.....not to be missed.
