We have stayed in this hotel 3 times on a theatre deal. The deal is for pre-theatre dinner, bed and full breakfast AND theatre tickets. The hotel is in a great location to the Bord Gais Theatre, being only a short walk away. The staff could not be more friendly. The bedrooms are adequate and clean. The menu for the dinner is varied and the quality and presentation of the food is excellent. To date the deal has been 109euros. We will definitely be going back.

Hello
Thank you for your posting and delighted you are enjoying the Theatre Packages. The theatre have some great shows coming up so do keep an eye on the website www.grandcanalhotel.ie for the packages. Singing in the Rain, Dirty Dancing, Joseph and Shrek to name only a few.
Hope to see you again soon and ask us about our new Encore Loyalty Club for our regular theatre goers.
Thanks again for the comments.

I stayed at this hotel from the 23rd to the 25th April 2014. On arrival we discovered that our room was not ready yet, but they gave us a new room on the Executive Floor (which was a nice surprise) but our keycard did not work. Reception was very helpful and fixed the problem. The room had one extra bed and was very spacious. We had a flat screen TV, and excellent wifi. In the Gasworks, the staff were extremely friendly. The beds were very comfy. Reception was willing to give us directions and were very helpful. The only negative point, is that it was very chilly at night as the heating didn't come on. Other than that I loved it and would most definitely return.

I stayed here one night. It seemed to be a busy hotel with holiday events, therefore very crowded. It was a nice hotel; not a great location since it was outside of the city center. Nothing fancy in the rooms. I would stay here again if I was passing through Dublin, but not if I was going to spend more than a day - I'd stay closer to the center of the city.

I've stayed here twice for a total of a month, I travel to dublin for business and this is near the office so it's very convenient.

The staff is extremely helpful and kind. The rooms are OK, beds are comfortable enough. The restaurant has some great dishes although it's not cheap.

We were booked at the Grand Canal with our tour group. The room seemed fine until we sat on the beds. They were hard on the top, but then sank in. The twin bed was the worst of the two, we used it to store our suitcases only. Our 2nd and last night we hoped for a good night's sleep as we had to get up at 6:30 to head to the airport for the 1st leg of our 11 1/2 hours of flying home. At 1:45am we were awakened by a wedding group (who was partying in the hotel bar 3 floors below us) - they were yelling, laughing, slamming doors over and over. I called the front desk & was told they would take care of it. Half an hour later, as it still continued, I called again. I was told they would send up security. I never heard anything except continued yelling, laughing and slamming of doors. There was also a large group on the street below having quite a time, which we could still hear through the double windows. They should have never booked this group on the same floor as a tour group (who uses this hotel regularly) & then should have done something about this awful behavior.

Hello
Thank you for taking the time to post your comments. We are all very disappointed that your stay was disturbed in this way by other guests. We do make every effort to allocate groups together but with a number of different booking options available it is not always possible to recognise groups. The manager on duty that night made repeated attempts to control the guests and apologises he was not more successful.
Please do accept our apologises again and our assurance that this was an isolated incident.
Thank you again for your feedback.
Kind regards

Booked this hotel based on the fact it was close to Bord Gais Theatre, it is indeed a short walk, and the hotel provides car parking, which is very convenient, and free until 1pm the following day, so we took advantage of this and walked to the city centre for a bit of shopping the next day. The rooms were clean and welcoming, the beds very comfortable! We had gone to the matinee show of War Horse, and planned to go into town for dinner that evening, but instead we went to the Gasworks, which is the bar within the hotel, where we had an excellent meal.
All the staff were polite, helpful and friendly, a very enjoyable overnight stay, would definitely stay again!
