I usually visit the National Gallery of Ireland on my trips to Dublin two or three times a year and have lunch at the restaurant. On my most recent visit this week, I was very disappointed at the tired food on offer - overcooked and dry. The choice was also very poor. Salads were past their best. The eating area, on a wet day, was full of visitors and steaming anoraks. Not very pleasant. The place needs to look at other institutions' restaurants, such as The Silk Road in the Chester Beatty Library for inspiration. With such a wonderful location, this is a missed opportunity.
