Having stayed for 4 nights i can say that i enjoyed the accomodation at Maldron Smithfield.
It's not far from the city center or the temple bar (10-15 min walk) and there is a tram station almost in front of the door.
Our room was quite large with a nice inclusion of coffe making facilities in the room and -most important-it was clean.
Although there were constuction works outside the hotel we had no problems with noise at night so sleeping was very comfortable.
Staff was helpful when you asked them for guidance to the city or asked for help.
The main disadvantage is that the location of the hotel might seem a bit sketchy for some people but we haven't experience any kind of troubles.

Dear Jyc-gr,

Thank you so much for taking the time to post your wonderful and positive review on tripadvisor.
I am delighted you found your room to be spacious, airy and clean. Cleanliness is a priority for us here at the Maldron Hotel Smithfield and we strive to ensure our rooms are 100% for each of our guests.
Service is vitally important to us here at the Maldron Hotel Smithfield, and the whole team was delighted that you found the staff to be so friendly and helpful.
Although we are a 15 minute walk from Temple Bar and O’ Connell Street, with the Luas on our doorstep we are extremely convenient for O’ Connell Street, Hueston station, and the main bus station as well as The O2, CCD and the Grand Canal theatre.
As we are in a very peaceful area of the city, it may seem quiet at night. But with the current regeneration programme being carried out by Dublin City Council in Smithfield we have that that the area is greatly improved, and is very is a very safe area that is continuously patrolled by the police who’s station is located 2 minutes from the hotel.
We look forward to welcoming you back to the hotel in the near future and thank you once again for taking the time to post your positive comment on Trip advisor.

Kind Regards

Ann Marie Traynor

I have stayed in this hotel twice in Dublin and I dont know why I dont use it all the time. It is very conveniently located in Smithfield a 10/15 minute walk from all the main shopping streets and restaurants/bars in City Centre. There is convient Parking under the hotel, there is a charge but it is reasonable. The rooms are always immaculate and if you get one overlooking Smithfield Square with a balcony it is really a treat. I wanted to spend more time in my room than I had opportunity to it was so nice. The rate was €59.00 on a Saturday night which is unbelieveable value for a Dublin Hotel. Check in was a pleasure as the staff were very nice and offered everything from wake up call to breakfast if desired. I really hope more and more people use this hotel as opposed to a lot of other 3 star ones in city centre as they are getting old and tatty and bar being just off O'Connell street there is no justifyable reason to stay in them when this little beauty is just a meer stroll down the road.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the Square.

Dear Vivzer,

Thank you so much for your wonderful review on Trip Advisor.

I was delighted to read that you are so impressed with the hotel service and cleanliness. These are two areas that I and the Maldron Hotel team pride ourselves’ on and comments such as yours are a great boost to the team.

I agree that our location is certainly a special key factor. Although a city centre property, the area is very peaceful, and noise is not issue for any of our guests.
We are lucky to be a city centre property which is conveniently located for local attractions, shopping areas, and temple bar along with having the Luas on our doorstep.
We look forward to welcoming you back to the hotel in the near future and thank you once again for taking the time to write your positive comment.

We stayed here last week, and the hotel was absolutely lovely. We got a really great deal and got two nights for just £80 (without breakfast, which we didn't have at the hotel so can't comment on that). Our flight was delayed and we didn't end up arriving at the hotel until after midnight but checking in late was no problem. The room was HUGE, very clean and the bathroom was spotless. The bed was extremely comfortable (more comfortable than my bed at home!) and just what we needed after such a long wait for our journey.

The hotel was ideally placed for us. We went to the Museum of Decorative Arts and History which was a 10-15 minute walk from the hotel, and then we used the Luas trams to get around the city for the rest of our stay. They were really convenient and extremely good value, and the Smithfield stop is only about a minute's walk from the hotel.

Our only negative comment (and I'm really sorry we have to make one at all!) is that on our second night we asked at reception for someone to come and look at the TV in our room, which hadn't worked since we arrived. We were told someone would be right up, but nobody ever came. It's not something which in any way affects my opinion of our stay, but it just might be useful for the hotel to know the TV in room 400 might still not work!

Overall, loved the hotel, the location and the city.

Dear AtticusFinch19,

Thank you so much for you wonderful review on Trip advisor. Your review is much appreciated and the team and I are delighted with your positive comments.

I agree that our location is certainly a special key factor. We are lucky to be a city centre property which is conveniently located for local attractions, shopping areas, and temple bar along with having the Luas on our doorstep.

Excellent customer service is something we strive to excel here at The Maldron Hotel Smithfield, and I was very upset that a breakdown in communication which led to the issue with your TV not being rectified immediately. Training is currently being carried out with all front office staff to ensure this does not happen in future.

I can assure that accommodation double check facilities on a guest’s departure to ensure that for the next guests all are working in the room.

We thank you once again for your positive review and both the team and I look forward to welcoming you back to the Maldron Hotel Smithfield in the near future.

Kind Regards

We got the suite and it was comfortable for 4 people. Really close to Jameson Destilery and supermarket next to the hotel was a big plus. Location was good walking distance to Temple Bar & Guinness Storehouse

Dear Aviashey,

Thank you so much for posting such a positive review on tripadvisor

I am delighted you enjoyed your stay with us, and found the location to be so convenient.

I agree that our location is a special key factor and a great advantage to us. Although we are a city centre the area is very peaceful, while still being walking distance to many local attractions such as Jameson Distillery, Guinness Storehouse, Dublin zoo, shopping areas and Temple Bar. Also with the Luas on our doorstep it is extremely convenient for CCD, the O2 and Heuston station.

We look forward to welcoming you back to the hotel in the near future and thank you once again for taking the time to post your positive comment on Trip advisor.
