I stayed at the Maldron Hotel Smithfield on business and was delighted with my overall customer experience. In a market that demands excellent customer service, the Maldron certainly ticks the boxes. The front desk staff were stand-out; professional and friendly and extremely knowledgeable (I arrived considerably earlier than the check-in time, expecting to have to sit around in the lobby, but was checked-in straightaway without a word). The room was spotlessly clean, spacious, quiet and with everything a guest could require, and the free Wifi was a bonus (fast and reliable - more than adequate for a business trip). I ate a very pleasant and reasonably priced dinner, and the breakfast was superb with a great choice. I would have no hesitation in recommending the Maldron Hotel Smithfield for a stay in Dublin, and will definitely be returning there on my next trip as it represents real value for money.

Location: 10-15 minute walk to Temple Bar area, 10 minute walk to O'Connell Street, and about 20-25 minute walk to Phoenix Park. The nearest Tram stop is a 2 minute walk. A good selection of local bars, attractions. Especially handy for the Jamesons Distillery Tour.

Facilities: room was comfortable and everything that we required. Our time in the room was minimal as we were out and about taking in the sights of Dublin. Standard double size bed, tea and coffee facilities, old style tv, with selection of about 10-15 channels. The bathroom showed a bit of age with the rubber underneath the shower screen coming away, leading to a bit of water on the floor when used. The breakfast buffet was an ideal start to the day, and meant we only had to have two meals a day. A selection of 4 cereals, fruit and yoghurt, orange or apple juice and a selection of various breads and rolls. The cooked option was a standard selection and topped up regularly, so freshness was never an issue.

Staff: very friendly, and welcoming. Always on hand with a smile and happy to offer advice as to local attractions and the best way to get to places.

Would have no hesitations in booking a stay here again. Great value for us (we utilised an offer from Secret Escapes)

Smithfield is quite a central location for Dublin, just a 10 minute walk to Temple Bar & right beside the Jameson Distillery & the Lighthouse Cinema. My stay at the Maldron was excellent value.
My room was very spacious with 2 large double beds & a massive balcony overlooking the city. The room was spotless, with all the usual amenities, warm & comfortable. Staff were attentive & polite. I received a receipt for breakfast on checking in & couldn't find it in the room but the receptionist found it in the lift & he put it under my door.
The restaurant/ bar area is very structured looking & not very inviting or special for drinks or dinner, but it was perfect for the buffet breakfast which consisted of fresh fruit, breads & pastries, homemade yoghurt, cereals & a fry.
The car park is accessible from the hotel & is reasonably charged at €10 for 24 hours. I would definitely stay here again.

I was a return customer to this hotel. The staff were all extremely friendly, especially the waiter in the dining room. The room was very comfortable and the free WiFi is fast and reliable. I never ate breakfast before but was pleasantly surprised - good selection of fruit and hot food and the coffee was very good. All in all, I was a very satisfied customer.
