Reviewed 12 May 2014

Having stayed at "The Maldron Hotel" Smithfield I checked in late and as usual was welcomed with a smile, the Nifgt manager could not do enough to make me feel welcome the room was spotless and the bed was good. I ordered a taxi for 06.30am it was waiting all in all a great hotel offering a great service, " keep up the good work"
Regards

One member of staff was having a bad day and could have been more welcoming, rant over, the rest of the staff were very helpful. Check in at Ryan Air and boarding passes were a piece of cake with their help.

The room was great, large clean and very good value, the wifi was included, as it should be, and we parked n the public car park, more later.

We went out on the evening and sadly found ourselves harassed by drunks or druggies, returning late at night we were advised not to walk to the hotel. Not the hotels fault but a tip you want to feel safe use a taxi.

Cheapskate that I am I had booked the early Ryan Air back to the UK and needed to make the check in at 6am. This is where the fun begins. The car park is a cash only car park, you can't use a card. The car park office is not manned at that time of the morning. So there is no one to help, phone the desk and they tell you to find the pay machine, if there is a problem and you don't have change or the machine is out of change you could well miss your flight. Make sure you have change ready.

I really liked this hotel. It was impeccably clean and very close to the Luas tram. From the balcony of my room I had a fantastic view over Dublin. Inside the room I had a little alcove with two armchairs and a table. It just had a lovely atmosphere. This is definitely one of my favourite hotels and I shall put it top of my list when I return to Dublin.

Room Tip: The higher the floor, the better your view over Dublin, if that is what you want.

I stayed here for one night originally and was able to extend my stay for an extra night. The staff are very pleasant and helpful. The room was very large with one double and one single bed. The bathroom was clean with plenty of towels. Wifi was free in the room and was strong enough to browse the web, check email and update apps. The tv, although a little dated, had a full range of tv and radio channels. The beds are comfortable and the room was just at the right temperature. Overall this is a good quality 3star hotel. The only negative was that the restaurant and bar did not open on a Sunday or a bank holiday Monday. Although there is a very good shop and coffee shop just next door.

Stayed for two nights recently with my Teenage Daughter and her friend,we were in Dublin for shopping, we had a triple room, which was clean and spacious with the added bonus of a balcony.
This Hotel is always our go to Hotel when we stay in Dublin, its a short walk to The Luas, and is very near Heuston Train Station ( two stops on the Luas), what we like especially is the efficiency of the staff in this hotel, nothing is too much bother, they go out of their way to be helpful. On this occasion we did not eat at the hotel, but we have done previously and been very happy.
This is a great hotel for Business or Pleasure.

Unfortunately no websites seem to accommodate 2 adults & 3 children in adjoining rooms however a few emails & 1 telephone call (all efficiently handled) later & we were booked. Was good value in comparison to other hotel quotes.
Arriving from the airport we checked in easily - the room was clean, comfortable & as needed. We could lock the kids room outer door & therefore only used 1 door. Breakfast (included) was good value, although I don't think it would have been if not already part of the price. Lots of different choices that the kids could try at will - cold & hot. The restaurant/ bar staff were friendly & accommodating as we're hotel staff.
The hotel was in a relatively quiet area of Dublin but 2 min walk from the Luas (tram) stop that was <10 min journey to Abbey St Luas stop. Supermaket next door & nice busy cafe's in street along with a small playground.
Would definitely stay there again with kids.

Stayed here for one night with my mam and sisters while attending the Bord Gais Energy Theatre. Lovely hotel with friendly & helpful staff especially in the bar. Spotlessly clean and food great. Couldn't fault anything. Would recommend.
