This guest house is great value for money, clean and comfortable with friendly and helpful staff. We stayed here for the weekend, in comfy beds and clean en suites. The rooms are spacious, wardrobe size is generous, and you get free wi fi, and items like a handy kettle for a cuppa, (although, no hair dryer- so make sure you bring your own!) You're so close to O'connell street, city centre, so it's a great location, there's a bus stop on the road (lower gardiner st) that goes straight to Dublin airport. And O'Shea's is up the road, a lovely pub with lovely food. I would certainly go back here again. A

Room Tip: Ask for the en suite rooms

We stayed at the Hazelbrook House in Dublin for our final two nights in Ireland. After traveling around in a rental car for two weeks, we returned our car to the Dublin airport and took a bus into Dublin from the airport. We were pleasantly surprised that a scheduled airport bus drop off and pick up was right across the street from the Hazelbrook. We arrived before check-in and the staff let us store our luggage in a locked room until our room was ready. Our room was quite small and we had to strategically place our suitcases. Everything was clean including the small bathroom. Breakfast was not included in the price we paid but a continental breakfast could be purchased. The young woman that sat at the front desk was wonderful. She was helpful, pleasant and made us feel very welcome. The Hazelbrook House is north of the River Liffey and a few blocks east of O’Connell Street, so it was a convenient location. It was a short walk to O’Connell Street where we caught the hop on hop off tour bus. We purchased a 2 day pass at the airport for the bus. The Hazelbrook House was not fancy and the room was small but we slept comfortably. If on a budget, it is a fine value when visiting Dublin.

I went with a friend to Dublin for three nights, and we were both surprised by how nice this hostel was (and by all the bad reviews here). We had a spacious room with a large private bathroom. Very nice and accommodating staff, free wifi, clean bathroom. And in a very good location - we just had to walk 5 minutes to be at the center of town. All for about $30 per night. Definitely worth the money (have paid a lot more for a lot less).

16 of us for my stag do. Not the usual rowdy type so please don't think the review should be ignored as it's just a group of 'pi**ed up blokes'

Arrived about 8.45am knowing full well we couldn't check in. Was greeted by the very attentive Simone. Dealt with very quickly and our cases put into the secure luggage room (ok this is a cupboard, but it's secure and does the job).

We hit the town, had a breakfast and returned about 5pm. All the rooms were ready (5 in total) and I personally saw in each and every room. They weren't brand spanking new, some of the furniture was dated. That aside, the bed was acceptable, the towel is more than adequate, the shower was hot and shower gel/foam was provided. I honestly don't know what more you can ask for?

We experienced no late night noise, and anything that wasn't right (no toilet paper in our room on arrival) was dealt with very swiftly.

The continental breakfast was ok, and to my knowledge the guesthouse doesn't claim to offer anything other than this. Cereals, toast, tea, coffee, orange, ham and cheese were available. If this doesn't fill you up there's literally 20 places to eat within a 5-10 minute walk.

Overall it exceeded my expectations. It wasn't the best place I've ever stayed in, but it more than served its purpose and would not hesitate to stay here again.

Simone is a truly lovely person and a real asset to this place.

The internet info is very misleading. It showed a room with a fan but there was no fan. The breakfast was a very sparse continental instead of a full Irish breakfast. Towels were very small, and they would not provide extra towels, nor would they provide ice. The room was very basic, very small. We stayed there 3 nights before our tour, and cancelled the stay after our tour. We stayed instead at the Maple Hotel just down the street. It was much nicer, full breakfast, extra towels, at almost half the price.

Room Tip: Get a room on the back, they are much quieter with no street noise.

We stayed here for one night. We arrived early but this wasn't a problem, our room was ready. We were on the top floor up several flights of stairs. The room was a decent size, with tea/coffee making facilities, a small tv (remote did not work) and a comfortable bed. The bathroom was small but sufficient, with toilet and shower. The basin had a chunk out of the side which looked bad, and there was some mould and mildew in the shower. The cleaners need to pay better attention to detail as there is no excuse for that, no matter the price you pay. There were also some tissues stuffed into a hole in the wall behind the door, which looked awful. It's not that hard to fill something like that in properly. The room was also very warm, it needed a fan or something. This was because it was sunny and at the top of the building, we slept with the window wide open. The reception staff were friendly. We didn't take advantage of breakfast there so can't comment on that. Overall attention to detail could be better, but no major complaints, and very good central location with the airport bus stopping right outside.

We stayed here two nights and all I can is the description of this place is terribly misleading. They are NOT a bed and breakfast by any standards -- this is a hostel. When we arrived it didn't look so bad but then they led us out through a back door and in to another area, the area where our rooms were was next to garage and the door to building was left open all night. The room was dirty (hair on bed and mouse poop on floor), cramped and had no windows. If was stuffy and felt unsafe -- we actually used our suitcases to block the door while we slept. The front desk was nice and the location was good -- but that's all good I have to say, I have stayed in way nicer hostels before for much less money. It was definitely NOT worth the money.
