“Easy Access To and Fro Airport”
Reviewed 21 June 2014

The airport bus stops right opposite the hotel and when going to the airport picks you up right outside the hotel. When coming from the airport, buy the rambler pass as it includes the trip from the airport. Check in and then with the rambler pass, take the bus transport free around dublin to orientate yourself with the city. We were early, so we left our luggage at the hotel and explored Dublin. Our ensuite room is basic and on the ground floor with just enough space to move around. Our window opens into a backyard and is not facing the road so there is no disturbance. If you need hot water when bathing, you need to let the cold water run for a while before the hot water gets through. Our sleep was good and there were no distubances. Wifi in our room was weak so at times we need to go to the reception area to connect. Travelling to town centre is simple and there is a tour group down the street if you need to do a booking. The buses to several places around Dublin can be taken from a street round the corner. There is a supermarket near the hotel. Although the room's locks are old, our things were safe and we felt secure thoughout our stay. It was easy for us to take the airport bus and you can check the schedule at the reception area.

Hi Mlimk

It was fantastic to have you stay with us, it was a pleasure to serve you and we look forward to your next visit.

As you will have seen, we have just completed a total house refurbishment and our property is under New Management and our front of house TEAM is led by our General Manager, Simone Wolf who has dedicated many years to delivering high-standards of customer satisfaction. Your feedback is always welcomed and helps us to improve our customer-experience.

We have just finished the complete refurbishment of Hazelbrook House and Hazelbrook Lodge and we are grateful to guests such as yourself who appreciate the fact that we are putting your money back into the product to improve the guest experience. We look forward to seeing you again soon, and please always BOOK DIRECT on Our website to get BEST RATES GUARANTEED.

Thank you for your kind review of your stay at Hazelbrook House, it was a pleasure to have your group stay with us and we look forward to your return visit in the future. As you said, our large family rooms can comfortably accommodate 5 people and this is great for big groups and families who wish to stay together in the heart of Dublin.

We offer BEST RATES GUARANTEED, we are normally 30% cheaper than similar accommodation in Temple Bar which is only 5 minutes walk away and we provide comfortable rooms in the centre of Dublin.

We have now completely refurnished our 53 bedrooms, these rooms range from our large family rooms to our small, comfortable budget singles. Our Room 23 has been restored to its original Georgian splendour with a modern twist. All of our bedrooms have been fitted with new beds including Memory Foam mattresses offering our guests a great night’s sleep in the heart of Dublin city. Our rooms have been painted, carpets replaced and new modern furniture and fittings installed.

Our new lobby area is now complete and our small garden areas are beginning to bloom as Summer sun shines each day. We have also completed our limited self-drive car parking spaces that cost €10 per night.

Our large family rooms offer a double bed and three singles and are very popular with families visiting Dublin Zoo and other major attractions, stag and hen parties find our family rooms and our close proximity to Temple Bar a real bonus.

Four friends and I visited Dublin for the weekend at the end of May 2014 for a birthday. We were originally booked into "My Place" hotel but upon arrival were told that they had overbooked and we had been moved to another hotel (Hazelbrook) just two doors down. With no prior warning of this, we were quite shocked and annoyed with the situation.
When arriving at Hazelbrook we had a very friendly welcome by a member of staff on the 24hr Reception. After explaining the situation she kindly ensured that we had two rooms together, a single and a triple. Further to this, we asked if it would be possible to have a look around the room as we had no knowledge of the hotel. It was the middle of the day so understandably the housekeepers were still cleaning the rooms but regardless of this, we were still shown our rooms and were asked if they were okay for us.
Very pleased with the helpful assistant who went out of her way to rest our minds.
The following day, check out was 11am. As we'd had a late night, I rang Reception and asked if it would be possible to pay for an extra hour. We were told this would be fine free of charge as long as we were out by 12. Again, another member of staff who provided a very kind service.

The 2 rooms were both quite basic, but clean. Comfortable enough beds, and reasonably spacious. The location of the hotel is fantastic, in the city center and just minutes walk from O'Connell street. However windows in both rooms were hard to open & close and wi-fi was quite slow but worked in the Reception area.

For a friends weekend away, this is the perfect hotel; basic and convenient. For anything else, a tip would be to take earplugs as it can get quite noisy in the early hours being on a main street.

Overall, a very enjoyable stay and we look forward to returning to Hazelbrook!

They offer parking possibility at the hotel, but the number of parkingspace are limited, which mean, first in - first serve. Even if your lucky to get one place you will pay 10 euro/day. If they have no parking place left you have to park your car 5 minutes walk away from the hotel wich cost you around 12 euro/day.

Hi Mantazah

I am not sure what point you are trying to make in relation to the parking, we clearly advise guests or potential guests that we have limited secure parking on a first come first served basis, this is common in most countries. We charge €10 per-night which is extremely cheap when compared to parking in Cleary’s car park which is €2.80 per-hour 24*€2.80 = €67.20.

Anyway thank you for taking the time to write a review and we look forward to your next visit to Hazelbrook House.

Hazelbrook Hotel is located in a very nice location, just 1 street from O'Connell street. Airport busses can be easily catch in a few minutes.
Single hotel room are basic, just a small bed and one shelf.
There is no wifi access in rooms, you can only net surf in a nice living room by the reception. Reception is open 24h/per day, cards are accepted. Hot water is not available all day, even if you wait for a few minutes.
Locks on the door rooms are old and not so secure, so it needs to be fixed. You can get towels every day. Shared bathrooms are cleaned regularly.
Breakfast cannot be served in this hotel or any other meal, but very good pub O'Shea is located in the same street.

Pros: great location, good sleep, clean bathrooms, reception 24h
Cons: no wifi in rooms, bad locks,no hot water for shower, basic room

We usually stay in hostels but for the price of the private rooms in Dublin and this B&B it wasn't much different. The location is very central just a short walk from O'Connell street and the LUAS, The river and the Customs house. The airport buses and the local bus from the airport which we took instead stop right across the street too. The rooms are a decent size as is the bathroom, the bed was also really comfortable and we had a TV and free WIFI which is always a plus. People were really nice and welcoming too, can't complain at all. Could have been cleaner in areas but nothing to complain about and it we were there they seemed to be in the process of re-painting and renovating the place a little.

It was great to have you stay with us at Hazelbrook House and Hazelbrook Lodge, our rooms range from small singles with shared bathroom in our Hazelbrook Lodge, small doubles/ensuite in our Hazelbrook Lodge to our large family rooms in our main building; we have something for all budgets. We are right in the heart of Dublin and as you say the Luas (tram), bus routes to and from the airport are all outside our front door. Your bed was comfortable as we have just added new Memory Foam mattresses to all our beds, Why pay more for less? Our staff as you say are professional and helpful and we continue to improve our service thanks to constructive feedback from fantastic guests such as yourself. We booked a 5-person room and it was defiinitely large enough for 5. The room was clean and overlooked the courtyard. Parking was available for an extra cost and that was great for us. Location to city center could be a bit better, but you can't always have it all. Great room for the cost!
