We spent the first night of our honeymoon in Ireland at the Kingfisher hotel. Mat, the manager was fantastic in organising the special touches for our room. The room itself was absolutely spotless we could not fault it. Food in the restaurant next door was excellent value and serving the best chips we'd had for a long time. We were glad we booked a parking space and Mat getting our car in the morning was a nice touch. Only comment for improvement were the coffee satchets... But then we are coffee snobs!!

For our first night in Dublin we choose this small townhouse like inn. It offers only 13 rooms on three floors. Even if we stayed in the upper floor, and even there is no lift (we were prepared - and it's a Kind of Fitness) we loved this tiny b&b; room was small but comfy, Very good beds, view to Parnell Rd and it was very quiet in the night. Bathroom is new and OK, Flat Screen TV was OK but as like in the most of Irelands Hotel if small or classy there are few foreign channels, Local channels and BBC were available. Important was free WiFi which worked from the beginning. We had to other 4* hotels in the country, were WiFi worked not or only occasionally. If you come from the continent, dont't forget to bring an adapter with you. But the receptioniost was also prepared to borough us one for the stay. Parking in daytime is difficult in Dublin and cost € 2,90 per hour. Street Parkling at night until 7am is free. The Kingfisher's receptionist as well all the other staff were very friendly and helpful. If you stay longer, most Hotels offer discounted rates in Parkins for around € 10.--/day
Breakfast is served at the Kingfishers Restaurant 2same building but 2 doors further down. You can choose à la Carte full irish breakfast and what you like. It was tasty and Service was very friendly. The receptionist will alos assist you with tips for excursions and other things to visit in Dublin.

We chose this hotel because there were three females in our party and they gave us a room with three beds in it. The room was very small but very clean as was the shower room. But I must endorse the comments made by another reviewer: if you are not on the first floor, it is a long way up the stairs. We were up at the top. The restaurant next door is excellent: we had our dinner there before a show at the O2 (with a 10% discount) and the breakfast (included in the price of the room) was delicious. It is very convenient for walking to the centre of Dublin, or getting transport to other parts. Parnell Street is a little noisy, but I probably am sensitive because I live in the countryside. And on Sunday morning when we would have liked a lie-in the cleaners were in the rooms next door to our room and were very noisy.

Room Tip: If you cannot cope with the stairs, insist on a room on the first floor. The third floor is a long w...

The hotel is centrally located allowing easy access to most of the city. The staff was pleasant and helpful. Beware, though, that this hotel does NOT have a lift, and it's a long winding way up all those narrow stairs. Also beware the rooms, while modern, are very small, as is the bath. And the shower is very, very, very small.

If you are a person of small stature and in good shape, this is a great place to stay. If average or above size, be ready for a tight fit. Again, the staff were great!

Good friends recommended this place and it was perfect for us. The bathroom was updated and the room comfortable. The breakfast in the restaurant next door was great (part of the room cost). Ann Marie and Matt were very helpful (the receptionists). The hotel is about a 15 minute walk from the center of Dublin. There is a grocery next door and a street market down the block. If you want music at night Murray's pub is just 1 1/2 blocks away on O'Connell Street, as is the Gate Theater. It is easy to get to from the airport. We just took the AirLink bus and asked to get off at the Gresham Hotel on O'Connell. It drops you off on Cathal Brughal Street and then it is a short two blocks walk. (Cost was about 6 euro each and took about 25 minutes). From the same street you can take the Dublin Hop-On Hop Off Bus - great if you are a first time visitor and want to see the sights further out (like the Guinness Storehouse (tickets are good for two days)

Room Tip: We had a room on the back side which did not have a great view but was nice and quiet. Who wants a v...
