“Great Place to Stay for Tourists!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 July 2014

Where do I start? After a short walk from our O'Connell Street bus stop from the Airport, we found the hotel with ease. We arrived mid-morning, and the desk staff held our baggage for us until we could check in a few hours later. With no lift (the only real negative), we were lucky enough to have only one short flight of stairs to navigate. Every morning we received our breakfast voucher (good until Noon, which was great), and ordered anything on the menu as part of the room rate. The food was excellent and the staff was very friendly (but a bit overworked, so the second cup of coffee was a bit slow to arrive). We liked the food so much that we ate a few dinners there as well. Almost all the tourist attractions could be reached on foot, and those that couldn't were only a short walk to the tram or bus. We were there during the daily World Cup matches, and we had no problem finding a pub within walking distance.

Room Tip: Reserve an inside room if you are a light sleeper and/or don't like to wear earplugs.

Recently stayed here for 2 nights as a group of six. Welcoming reception ,even had 2 rooms available for early checkin. Rooms bright and vey clean.Lovely breakfast from the restaurant next door, with unlimited menu included. Location was very central and walkable easily to Temple bar district,Grafton street and right on Oconnell st. A little noisy at night but that goes with staying in the center of a city. Reception offered to arrange our van to the airport and the driver was very friendly and helpful. All in all would highly recommend if wanting to be in central Dublin.

I stayed for a night with 2 friends here. We arrived early and our room wasn't ready, the owner very kindly brought us in for complimentary coffees in the restaurant while we waited for it to become available. Room was so nice and clean and bright, bathroom was lovely too. Only fault is that it's on a busy street and it may be hard to sleep in the morning, but that's to be expected in the city. I'll most definitely be staying here again and will be recommending it to friends.

We came here for my partners birthday. We arrived early due to an early flight, we asked to store our bags in the hotel until we could check in. The staff were only happy to help. Check in time was 12pm and there was no limited breakfast time :-)
Our room was clean and very comfortable although there was quite a lot of traffic noise so if you are a light sleeper my advice is to ask for a back facing room.
Breakfast was at the cafe next door, the reception staff gave us a voucher for free breakfast. Breakfast was lovely and again the staff were only happy to help. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.

We stayed in a triple for one night. The room had three single beds and was clean and comfortable, though quite noisy as it's on a busy street. The stairs are narrow and steep, but the very welcoming young man at reception helped us get our luggage up to the room. The location is very central. Breakfast was very good with a variety of choices. We also had dinner there and they do indeed have the best battered fish of our entire trip, the chips however were undercooked and quite disappointing.

Myself and a mate did a whistle stop tour of Ireland over 5 days, taking in Belfast, Derry and Dublin (with a few places in between). We decided to stay at the Kingfisher on the Thursday for our overnight stay in Dublin. It is a very convenient location, very central being about a 1 or 2 minute walk from the top end of O'Connell Street Upper and therefore pretty much in the heart of city centre amenities and the action. I'd say its a 15 or 20 minute walk to the Temple Bar area to the far side of the River Liffey. The Kingfisher rooms are marketed as "apartments" although in reality what we had was a well appointed and smart small en-suite room. Our room was at the front of the building but it was still quite quiet although quite warm (there was a heat wave in Dublin in March!). The room was smart, clean and comfortable and perfect for what we were looking for which was for good and convenient accommodation for an overnights stay. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Breakfast was included and this was basically a supplement for the associated diner next door (I think we could have up to £8 worth of breakfast or something like that). The diner was good fun and the breakfast decent. I would definitely recommend the Kingfisher for anyone visiting Dublin who is looking for something central, convenient, good value and decent quality. Check out was a generous 12pm which was great after a night out in Dublin! Overall, very much recommended and it will definitely be on the list of options for next time!

Room Tip: We had a first or second floor room at the front facing onto Parnell Street, but it was still reason...
