5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 August 2014

Stayed here for 4 nights on our first trip to Dublin. Yes the stairs are a hassle but Matt offered without prompting to carry all of our bags up to our room.
Good breakfast in the restaurant right next door.
Only 10 minutes walk to Temple Bar and Trinity College.
Would happily stay here again.

Room Tip: We were in a room facing the street but no problem with noise

Stayed here as a couple for a night. Was greeted by a friendly gentleman who explained everything we needed to know. Were booked into a twin room which had three singles rather than a double and a single but we didn't mind too much. All the hotel info was in the folder provided and it had the wifi access code and it was pretty good wifi. Beds were quite comfortable and the place was very clean. shower was really nice too. Had a room towards the street which was noisy for about half an hour around 3 am with drunk pedestrians going home, apart from that it was just the hum of traffic, nothing major. Everything is up flights and flights of stairs so if anyone has mobility issues, they should be aware of this. Got a voucher from the front desk in the morning for breakfast at the restaurant next door and in fairness it was delicious and they serve until noon which really suited us. Definitely can't complain, we got what we paid for and would probably stay here again.

Room Tip: If you want a twin room that has a double bed (as these are much cheaper than double rooms) then mak...

Stayed here for 2 nights. Excellent location, walking distance to Temple Bar and also the aircoach bus stop. The staff were helpful and the early check in time was good. Rooms were lovely with a huge bed which was a bit hard. The restaurant next door for breakfast was superb. All in all hotel was well worth the money and highly recommended.

Room Tip: We stayed at the front and it was quite noisy. Might be worthwhile asking for a room out the back.

Picking a hotel in a city you've never visited and without personal recommendations can be scary but not if you pick the Kingfisher. When my husband and I decided to visit Ireland in July (with only three weeks to plan) he took care of the transportation and I was in charge of accommodations. Thank you Kingfisher for making me look like I knew what I was doing. The hotel is small but efficiently run. I liked the fact that the front-door is kept locked and the desk is staffed 24/7. The location is great, one block from the Hop-On, Hop-Off busses, O'Connell Street, and a reasonable walk to many other sights. Our room was on the top floor (no lift and the steps are a bit challenging) and the front-desk clerk carried our bags up for us. Every member of staff we interacted with was helpful and friendly. Our room was beautiful and very clean, and because we requested one at the back of the hotel it was quiet (once the sea birds shut up that is:) ).The breakfast (at the restaurant next door) was wonderful - nice variety and friendly staff.

The only downside is the stairs but because we left after breakfast and didn't come back until after dinner it really was not a big deal and the exercise was good for me. That said it is something to keep in mind if your mobility is limited (just ask for a room on a lower floor). The Kingfisher Townhouse is definitely a place we would book again. The room was an exceptional value for the location. It was beautiful, comfortable, clean, and safe - and even better than we expected.

Room Tip: If you are sensitive to street noise ask for a room in the back. If stairs are an issue ask for a ro...

Stayed here recently for 3 nights. Good location, on Parnell Street which is just off the top of O'Connell Street, so easy walking distance to Temple Bar etc and also the airport bus stop. All the staff were very friendly, in both the hotel and restaurant next door where we went for the breakfast that was included in our booking.

Lots of different choices for breakfast and the sausages were tasty, so had them every morning! Also could get breakfast past 12pm, which was needed one day. The 24 hour reception is also handy if you're having a few late night drinks elsewhere.

Our room was small, but clean and had everything in it that we needed. Beds were comfy and I wasn't woken by any street noise, despite our room facing onto Parnell Street. The bathroom was modern and had a powerful shower. Toiletries included too.

I would stay here again if I was going back to Dublin.

The Kingfisher Townhouse is in a great location, within walking distance from everything in Dublin! No need to buy hop on-hop off tickets, you can walk to any site in 20 minutes. GREAT breakfast, very worth it since everything is so high priced in Dublin. The staff is friendly and the rooms are clean, but are quite small. There are no outlets in the bathroom but there are plenty in the room.
I would stay here again and would recommend it to all my friends.

Found the hotel to be conveniently located on the North bank of Dublin, not too far a walk at all!

The rooms were nicer than what we expected for the price and the breakfast at the adjoining restaurant was a huge plus!!

The staff was also very kind to keep my bag as I arrived in town at 7:30am and didn't return to the hotel until 11pm!
