“Good value for location”
Reviewed 26 June 2013

The location of the property is excellent. Everything was within walking distance and it was located in a good area. The breakfast was plentiful and tasty (porridge with Bailey's - yum) and included a side bar with fruits, yogurt, etc. Our room was #11 on the top floor: 65 steps above street level, but with interesting historical information about the townhouse located on each floor. I had a problem with the double bed in the room. My back hurt after sleeping in it one night. Fortunately there was a single bed which had a mattress which was a little better. The furnishings are a little on the tired side, but everything was very clean and staff was extremely helpful and pleasant.

We very much enjoyed our stay at this B&B. Our room in the rear was clean, the bed was comfortable and best of all it was very quiet with no street noise. The location is great for visiting Dublin as most of the sites which we wanted to see were within walking distance or the tour bus stop was nearby. Plenty of restaurants and pubs were nearby so food and entertainment were never a problem to find. The breakfasts were very good with excellent selection of choices. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and catered to our every need. All in all a very enjoyable experience. Very good value for the price.

Within easy walking distance of most everything you want to see in Dublin (at least, of everything I wanted to see in Dublin, maybe you want to see strange distant stuff!) and, as far as our comparison shopping went, a very good value.

The house has a long history, explained in framed posters on the walls in the stairwells, though because it was carved up into apartments at one point the rooms don;t have the character that you might expect for a house of its pedigree. To me, this did not matter -- did not go to Dublin to hang out in the hotel room enjoying the "character!" As far as a place to sleep comfortably, it worked very well.

I had read that there might be "city noise" issues, but did not notice any at all.

Asian fusion restaurant s hundred meters or so towards town is convenient and excellent, as are several nearby pubs in the same direction.

Breakfast was fine, including the typical cereal-fruit-and-stuff set out, and a menu from which to order, worth it, I think, to go the Bed & Breakfast option, though Just Bed, Find Your Own Breakfast Somewhere option is also available.

Room Tip: Consider how many stairs you want to climb, and request floor accordingly!

This guesthouse in a Georgian townhouse is a good value. Some of the rooms are in the townhouse itself, while others are across a courtyard in a newer, small building. We had rooms in the latter. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was plentiful and good--you've got to try porridge with Bailey's Irish Cream. Our only quibble was the fact that it's a bit of a trek to walk from where the Airlink bus dropped us off on Grafton Street to Lower Baggot Court, especially as we had lots of luggage. But that was our error--we should have hailed a cab. We would stay here again.

We were looking for somewhere central and not too expensive - and we found it! Baggot Court is a Georgian townhouse, comfortably - though not fashionably - furnished, within walking distance from Stephens Green. It was quiet and clean and the staff were helpful and friendly. Breakfasts were excellent and gluten-free appeared to be no problem at all. If you have a problem with stairs though, check which floor your room is on when booking - it's a long way to the top! I would stay again and will recommend it to friends.

As a man from Dublin (I live abroad now) I wanted a place to stay to show off the city to a friend. This street is perfect, close to Stephens Green but quiet in the evenings and with (limited) free parking makes the price very reasonable. The rooms were clean and double glazed, the TV modern and the power shower just great. Not a full refurbishment of the bathroom but it was not lacking anything. The breakfast was great a full spread, the cooked breakfast not using high end products and not sure they were locally sourced but still OK. The staff were very pleasant and attentive. And it was very exciting for my guest to stay in the former Lord Mayors residence located in the Georgian quarter very near traditional music pubs, upmarket restaurants and banks.

Room Tip: For a quieter stay, stay at the back; the street is notorious for an expensive car alarms or two goi...

We were pleased with our stay here, as the beds were comfortable, the room was quiet, and the en suite bathroom was well appointed with a decent shower. The staff helpfully arranged a cab for us twice, and let us have breakfast slightly before the set time to accommodate our travel commitments. The bitterly cold weather made the walk to pubs and restaurants seem like a long way, but being closer would probably have cost significantly more. Note: if taking a cab, just give the driver the address on Lower Baggot; the inn is not well known and the name caused one driver to try to leave us in Baggot Court (which is just an alley). I was amazed how many red doors there are in Dublin, too - not a good landmark - watch the house numbers! Street numbers, unlike in the States, aren't odd/even on opposite sides of the street; 92 is next to 93 and may be across the street from number 60.

Room Tip: Lower floors have fewer stairs. Front room was quiet even though it overlooked the street.
