“Great location, friendly staff”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 October 2013 via mobile

Never having been to Dublin we took a chance on the Radisson Blu Royal Hotel

It was best Radisson have ever stayed at -- the rest of their hotels should be as nice, clean and quiet rooms

Staff was overly friendly

Close to Temple Bar area and numerous local pubs and restaurants

Hope to make return visit someday

Stayed October 2013, travelled on business

I had a lovely stay at the hotel. The room was very clean with an amazing shower. The room had ac which is not often needed in Dublin but it was the night I stayed And I was very great full for it. And breakfast was also yum yum and as much as you can eat.

I choose hotels based on Tripadvisor reviews and once again was very pleased. We find the Radisson to be one of the most accommodating of all foreign hotels we have stayed in. Amenities I look for are: lots of counter space, suitcase stands, good lighting, air conditioning with in-room temperature control, windows that open, a couch or comfortable chair, desk and chair, etc. And always very spacious and modern with efficient and helpful staff. This Radisson is located within walking distance (20 minutes) to Temple Bar, castle and museums in one direction or the Guinness Storehouse and Jameson Distillery in the other.

And the complimentary breakfast! Fried, scrambled, and hard-boiled eggs, bacon, sausage, roasted potatoes with onions, cold turkey and ham, 3 cheeses, smoked salmon, black pudding, muffins, crossoisants and breads, cereals, fresh fruit, yogurt with toppings of sunflower seeds, dates and meusli. All very fresh and delicious!

We requested a room away from the lift on an upper floor and were glad we did because people on the street can be very noisy at night.

Room Tip: Request a room away from the lift on an upper floor for quiet.

Stayed one evening while passing through Dublin on my way to the countryside; booked using points. The Radisson is great because it's consistent and reliable, and this Dublin location is no different. We got in late due to plane delays, but we're well looked after by the team. Breakfast wasn't included in the points booking and the receptionist pointed out that for a €35 upgrade we could get breakfast included and a better room, rather than just pay the €17 per person in the morning.

The rooms, restaurant and bar are all first rate. It's quality that I've come to expect when booking with the Radisson anywhere in Europe. It leaves the doubt and worry out of at least one aspect of any trip.

This was my first trip to Dublin and I was really pleased with the hotel. It's ideally located for transport, shops and restaurants. The rooms are large and modern and the breakfast was made to order - staff go out of their way to make anything you like which was a nice touch. Would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Request for your room to be cleaned whilst you're out (house keeping can come anywhere from 9am...

The hotel is very central - a short walk from the parliament, Chester Beatty library, cathedral, castle and Trinity College and the buzzing Temple Bar area. Rooms are a good size and comfortable; reception staff are very friendly and helpful; ice is available in the lift lobbies. The breakfast is amazing; a vast choice of delicious, fresh, local hot and cold foods with great service too. The price was very good for Dublin too; I'll definitely choose it again.

We only stayed here overnight, but they certainly made a good impression. We were greeted warmly at reception, which was quickly done, and upgraded to a business class room.
After staying in several older, more traditional places, the modern amenities were really appreciated. I wanted to hug the free Wi-Fi! The beds were comfy, the bathroom large, water and candy were provided and the river view from the window was lovely. Their breakfast buffet was very good, too.
It's a walkable distance from the town's restaurants and tourist areas.
I recommended this hotel to friends who are going there this summer.

Room Tip: Ask for a view of the river.
