Stayed at this hotel for the first time during a quick trip to Dublin in Dec 2013. Honestly, I chose it over the other options because of the price and I was glad I did. The location is an easy walk from the Aircoach stop on Upper O'Connell as well as the city center, and there are several sit-down and take-away dining options nearby.

The front desk staff was friendly, and easily switched between multiple languages. I arrived an hour or so before check-in time officially started, but was immediately given a room without any hassle. I had a similar experience when I checked out at 4am to catch an early flight.

The hotel rooms and public spaces appear to be fairly new, and are clean and well maintained. The bed was comfortable, a nice coffee/tea service with electric kettle is complimentary, bathroom fixtures were modern, and they had a vertical trouser press I experimented with extensively (not something usually found in the US).

Would definitely stay here again.

I over nighted in this hotel on the back of the rating it has on tripadvisor (and in fact I was giving it a second chance after a less than impressive stayover one year ago). Silly me. So, nothing has changed - Yes it is a budget hotel and yes it is central and for a single overnight stay - but it is just not even passable. While the bathroom is clean and the room I was in (221) looked decent enough on the surface, fact is the sheets were unpressed, and didn't smell recently washed and the bed throw was simply filthy, covered in stains of all sorts - the carpet is rank too. Yes, you will be sheltered from traffic noise (in this room anyway) but that little plus is amply deafted by a trundling ceiling vent and the fact that the interior walsls are paper thin. You can hear a knat farting in the corridor outside, which means no sleep with returning revellers or when the cleaning ladies are hoovering in the morning or knocking on other doors. The Hotel offers free wifi (LMAO) - it does not work - it is a poor intermittent and unreliable service which is far more frustrating than paying for a slow one that at least does work. The Davenport on the otherside of town is a far superior hotel, where with advance bookings you can get similarly prices but far better and cleaner rooms. OH, BTW, the computer printer in the hall in the Maldron costs 1 euro conin to operate for 10 minutes with extra charges for printing in case you are doing on line bookings - an utter scandal in my opinion. I cannot undersrtand why this hotal is rating as high as it does - it is not a reflection of any reality that I know of.

Room Tip: end of corridor rooms have beens away form the wall - its a small compensation if you are prepared t...

We stayed at the Maldron Hotel Parnell Square last month and as usual it was lovely.

Have stayed there on several occasions for matches, airport departures, shopping etc and have always found it welcoming and friendly. We have been lucky with the rates with breakfast, so no complaints there. It is a Boutique type hotel and staff are always friendly and eager to please. Hotel is clean and very comfortable, this time we were on the 5th floor with a balcony and great views. Havent had a problem with noise on other stays.

If we go out to eat we either we will walk into the city center and get a taxi back or visa versa, and staff are very helpful in arranging transport.

Car parking is available but do book in advance as spaces are limited. We come from Galway and find it easy to get to, without getting lost.

Looking forward to our next stay.

Surprise weekend away with my wife, within walking distance of City Centre. Hotel clean, fresh, very similar to a Premier Inn. Bit disappointed in the TV viewing. Poor selection of channels, TV was old school and hanging off the wall. The heating system was also broken, staff member didn't know how to fix if which meant it was on! Then it just stopped on the last night.

All in all, I might go back. Not sold on this hotel.

We had to go to Dublin for an emergency and this was pretty well the only hotel that had open rooms.

It's a basic 2 star European business hotel but I think we paid 350 euros for each of 4 crew rooms. Supply and demand I guess.

Room was basic and functional. Noisy though. Very Noisy.

Perfect location, close to O'Connell street. Clean room. During booking, we requested a quiet room (internal room rather than a street room). On arrival we were asked to pay upfront. Payment was double the normal price (because of New Year's eve). Despite our request for a quiet room we were given a room which faced the main street and on the first floor! We immediately asked the staff for a better room (preferably an internal room) but the staff were not helpful and refused to change our room. This was disappointing. After all, paying double price for new year's eve, we expected the service to be a little bit better and staff who would want to accommodate our needs. It may have been nice if the hotel included some little new year's eve perks such as breakfast included or a prosecco on arrival. Unfortunately the hotel made no effort! It seems that we paid double the price for very minimal service!

Room Tip: Choose a room which is off street!
