Having never traveled to Dublin, we weren't quite sure where to stay. So, we booked our week stay based on the recommendation of a friend. It was a great hotel that provided exactly what we needed - a quiet place to lay our head at night. We were at the end of the hall which meant it was pretty quiet all day long. The room itself was very comfortable, big and could sleep up to 4 guests. The staff was extremely friendly and knowledgeable of all Dublin had to offer. They gave great recommendations of must see places during our stay. We had breakfast here one morning and it was decent - the eggs were a little weird. But for the convenience of it, it's not bad, but there are better breakfast places close by.

My one wish - better location. It's not terribly far - about a 10 minute walk to O'Connoll Street and River Liffey - but it would've been nice to be closer to where we spent most of our time. It's close to Bus Headquarters and the Dublin hop on/hop off bus has a stop at Garden of Remembrance which helps. ( https://www.dublinsightseeing.ie/citytour.aspx )

Stayed here with a friend for 2 nights in June. Nice hotel with very friendly staff. Comfy, spacious rooms, good tea making facilities (fresh milk provided on request at no extra charge), good wifi. Breakfast OK but why not heat the plates? Most of my breakfast was lukewarm, which was a shame. Only downside was that the hotel was on the edge of a slightly seedy area but it was only about 10 minutes walk to O'Connell Street and very handy for buses.

Room Tip: Probably one of the higher floors might be a good idea. We slept on the 5th floor and it was quiet.

Stayed there for 3 nights in June 2014 as a couple. Hotel is excellent with large rooms and helpful and friendly staff. Breakfast was one of the best we've had in a hotel and reasonably priced if booking on a room only basis. Easy access on the bus with a 5 minute walk from the 747 bus. Happily stay there again. It is a 5 minute walk to the top of O'Connell Street and a 10/15 minute walk to Temple Bar. Guiness factory is 30 minute walk but accessible by bus as well as on foot.

We arrived about noon on Monday June 2nd of 2014. The service was great and the staff very friendly and helpful as this was our first trip to Ireland. The rooms were very good and the breakfast was of good quality. The staff helped us to get around Dublin and made good suggestions for us. There was 6 in the group and we sure learned much about the Irish history. We would go back to this hotel the next time we visit Ireland.

Part of a group tour. OK rooms, everything worked fine. Many of the rooms have a double bed and a single bed. The people who work here and at the Belvedere hotel were so kind! My husband didn't remember the name of this hotel, when he went for a walk (after a long flight from San Francisco) and ended up at the Belvedere. The front desk person called various hotels until she reached the Maldron, who then sent someone to fetch him and brought him back by taxi. I can't imagine this happening in other countries that we have visited.

I got the impression that this hotel catered to tourist groups as there were always people massed in the lobby chattering loudly in other languages. I found the hotel to be very middle of the road. Nothing special about it at all. The decor on the first floor is what I'd call dinghy deco and, I thought, a little depressing. I was much relieved to find my room a little more modern, though not as modern as it could be. It was certainly spacious and clean. It faced a busy road, however, with traffic through the night, so I couldn't leave the window open as I wanted to. My biggest complaint was with the shower water, which never got more than moderately warm. The soaps and shampoos were low quality, no doubt another cost-saving measure . I found the location to be a bit out of the way. It is near some things on the north side of the river but it's a bit of a hike to the south side, which is where the majority of the sites are as well as the majority of the action. Next time, I'll lay out more cash for something nicer.
