Stayed at the Maldron Hotel for a night. The hotel itself is nice. Rooms are spacious and clean. Location is excellent...less than a 10 minute walk to O'Connell Street, Dublin's main thoroughfare. I had no problems with the staff. Anna was courteous and helpful, pointing out things to do in the area. It seems like it could be a little dodgy at night (in fact, a friend administered assistance to a man who had fallen down drunk, wet himself, and split his forhead open. He was lying on the ground, bleeding, and people just kept walking by so we waited until an ambulance came). There were a few other drunken people stumbling up and down the street outside the hotel but we encountered no problems. It was good value for money so I'd probably stay there again but I think I'd either be back at the hotel well before more drunk people started pouring out of the bars or definitely take a taxi right to the hotel door.

i walked into the hotel and from that point on the staff were terrible, the girl that checked us in was very rude and very unhelpful ,had very little english . the night porter was the same ,i will say the room was lovely and the hotel has great potential however it is need of new experienced staff and new management.

We stayed for a week at this hotel and couldn't fault it. The rooms were clean and comfortable and any problems (like missing towels) were dealt with promptly. Buffet breakfast was varied and good quality. Location is excellent for central Dublin, a few minutes walk from the main street. This is a three star hotel and if you want money for seeing and doing plus a nice place to stay then this is ideal. If you want five star service you pay five star money! why do that when you can save your money for other things!

Stayed here for 2 nights with my husband last week. The hotel was great, very clean, and quiet, considering there was a school party staying. It's a short walk from the city centre but not too far. The staff were very helpful. Our room was a little small but very nicely appointed. We had booked room only but if you book breakfast day before you get the discounted rate.
Would definately stay there again when we next visit.

I booked this Hotel for a 2-night stay for my partner's birthday, and we were both very impressed. Its a very short walk up from O'Connell street, so nice and close to all the shops, and about a 10-min walk to Temple Bar. The room was fantastic - decorated lovely, was nice and modern, and everywhere was very clean. Bathroom was slightly dated, but very functional and immaculately clean. Plenty of wardrobe space, nice flat screen tv, desk area, and lots of drawer space. Huuuuge bed! Was the size of 2 single beds, so plenty of room! Tea and coffee facilities - however there were no biscuits provided which I was a little disapointed about!!! Slightly noisy at night time, as buses run late into the night, but the noise didn't keep us up. We had breakfast there 1 morning, and were very satisfied with it - great selection on cereals, pastries, drinks and cooked bacon, sausages, and black pudding( eeww!) etcc..! On the day we were leaving, there was an incident where and American guest had his Laptop and money stolen from his room (we heard him say his room door didn't close properley unless it was pushed shut, so he suspected the cleaners didn't shut his door properly, and someone got in) and the police were checking CCTV as we left. We had a wonderful stay at this hotel, and would reccomend it, especially as we got a great price for it aswell!!

For a quick business trip or short city visit I would recommend this hotel. A short walk from the top of O'Connell Street the hotel is well situated. Great value for money - I paid £50 for a the night (room only). it had the feel of a much more expensive boutique hotel.

I spent 4 nights at the Maldron and was quite pleased. The room was very quiet and clean. We had breakfast included with the room and despite some of the negative breakfast comments on here, it was perfectly acceptable. Plenty of breads cereals, yougurts and fruit. Hot items included eggs, ham (or "bacon" as the Irish insist on calling it) as well as the usual weird sausages of the "traditional Irish breakfast". The only negative I can say was that the items were the same every day (we were there 4 days). Some variety would have been nice. But a perfectly fine and filling breakfast.

Their business center was a bit weak, as it was merely a desk inthe lobby into which you had to put coins. Fairly expensive. However they had free wired Internet access in the rooms which was quite fast. But if you need to print out anything like a boarding pass, you have to use the coin operated lobby PC. I think there's free WiFi in the lobby, but never used it.

Location takes a little walking to get to the Temple Bar area, but maybe 10 minutes. Nice walk. OConnell Street is only a couple blocks away, as is the main shopping area and malls. There's a Tesco one large block away for groceries, and a laundrette about 500 meters to the north on Upper Dorset Street.

Not a lot of wonderful eating locations adjacent to the hotel, but plenty after a short walk to OConnell Street, or we just walked to Temple Bar.

Airport access is easy via the 747 bus, about every 10-15 minutes. The stop from the airport is on OConnell Street, and with luggage it's about 800 meters to a kilometer walk, sort of uphill (the hotel is above OConnell Street). However there is a stop for the 747 going to the airport very close to the hotel on Parnell Square West, only a couple hundred meters away. At 10 Euro roundtrip, per person for the 747, it's a good deal.

Oh yeah, the hairdryer. A post or two groused about the lack of hairdriers. There was a hairdryer in our room. It was fastened into one of the desk drawers. You had to hunt for it. Oh, lastly the room had very effective blackout curtains for sleeping in!

Anyway, I'd definitely stay there again on any future Dublin trips and recommend to friends. Dublin is expensive, and the Maldron was a very good value.
