“GREAT location in Dublin or should i say Dooblin!”
Reviewed 23 August 2018 for a stay in August 2018

This condo was great to accommodate my family of 5. Ample space with the right amenities. Clean and well furnished. Great location to everywhere and almost everything, city centre and anywhere in or outside of Dublin. Shopping close by, not to mention restaurants and pubs. The owner, Cathal, was very accommodating, easily accessible via telephone, emails and or texts. I will definitely tell my friends about this location and will use it again in the very near future. Thanks Cathal for making our Irish Vacation one that I will always remember! You are amazing!

“Lovely modern condo in a growing eclectic neighbourhood.”
Reviewed 30 July 2018 for a stay in July 2018

The condo is very nice and modern with very comfortable beds and it located on the same block as is a very well stocked (food and alcohol) variety store. We had planned to 'self check in' but arrived in time to meet the owners son. Very nice and helpful.

The location is at the eastern edge of the downtown section of Dublin but a reasonable walk from the city centre/pubs/shopping. If you prefer not to walk, there are always cabs waiting on the corner as the unit is only a block from the Bord Gais theatre. The owners have also very thoughtfully provided a binder of useful information which is on the table in the living room. Beyond the mundane info regarding condo operation they have also included tourist links and suggestions, including 'free' things to do while in Dublin. Having been to Dublin numerous times I did not make use of this, but such a binder would have been invaluable in my first trips and I thought it was a very nice touch.

While we were generally very pleased with the rental, I would note a few minor things. The first is a general issue (one that s probably more pertinent to North American travellers), and that is that like most rental units (and hotels/b&b's) in Ireland, the unit does not have air conditioning. Given the temperate climate it isn't usually necessary but you should consider that if your traveling in summer months (this summer was unseasonably warm in Dublin).

Another, that may again be more of an issue with NA travellers, is that the washing machine/dryer seemed unusually complicated to run. We were never able to get the clothes to dry properly. In the end we hung them over the chairs on the balcony. I would point out however, that we did not contact Cathal (the owner) about this given that we were only there for five nights and only became aware of it halfway through our time, but if you are planning a lengthier stay and aren't familiar with European appliances, you may want to ask for some help.

My final comment is very minor and more in the form of a suggestion. If you are driving without satellite navigation, you may find locating the unit difficult (as I did). When we arrived in the unit I noted that there was a map of the location included in the welcoming binder. It would be helpful to include a copy of the map in the arrival instructions that were sent out in advance of arrival.

Thank you for your positive review of our apartment. We aim to give guests all they need for their stay. Re the issues I think you will agree that they are out of our control.
Air con - we have a mild temperate climate. Irish residential units do not have air conditioning but do have windows that open in all rooms. I’ve lived in Ireland for 50 years and have never encountered a home with air con. We have lovely fresh air and like to open windows on the rare occasions we get hot weather:) twice in the last 20 years god help us!
Washer/dryer - our appliances are European. There are printed instructions in the kitchen and in the guide in case of any difficulty. And we’re on hand to help too!
Map - Dublin in notoriously complicated to navigate by car as there are lots of one way streets and banned right turns so if asked for driving directions we always recommend using a sat nav and planning your journey in advance. As it’s a relatively new area, our street may not be on older paper maps. We provide all guests with GPS coordinates and public transport directions prior to arrival. And if you get lost, there’s always a pub to stop at and we’ll come and rescue you!

Lots of info in a packet helped during our stay. We were delayed getting to the apartment but Cathal hung around to let us in and show us around. Lots of nearby amenities (stores, restaurants, pubs). Easy walk to city center. And airport bus has pickup or drop off near apartment.

Excellent location with shops and pub nearby. Hop on hop off bus just around the corner. Free secure parking on the premises. Within walking distance to centre of town. The host were very friendly and helpful. Pre trip question were answered promptly and in full detail. Host were most accomodating when we arrived earlier than normal check in time. Unit was well equip and a welcoming Guinness and other provisions awaited in the fridge.

“In the Best Part of Dublin”

The apartment is a short walk from the Bord Gais Theater, close to a host of small restaurants and a great pub, "The Ferryman". Guinness is the best in Dublin.
Two good sized bedrooms and a small balcony overlooking a side street. Walking distance to everything in Dublin within 20 minutes. Secure parking underground is also a plus. Hosts had eggs, cheese, butter, coffee and bread already in the fridge. Fully equipped kitchen, with dishwasher and washing machine.
Maura and Tom were excellent fill in hosts for Cathal and Gina. Plenty of info for restaurants and sights available and a convenient map got us situated immediately.
