“Great atmosphere.”
Reviewed 13 June 2014

There were many parts to this pub. A music bar, an outside area inside, a food bar. I did think the food was over priced for what I had. Lots of sandwiches.

“Great music and food”
Reviewed 10 June 2014

Who cares if Temple Bar attracts the tourist crowd, it is a great place to spend a Saturday afternoon and evening. The food is great, have the oysters if you can. And then from your comfortable seat enjoy the music from different bands that perform throughout the weekend. What a really super enjoyable and friendly bar.

“Part of Dublin History”
Reviewed 8 June 2014

If you are in Dublin, you have to go to one of the pubs in the Temple Bar district, so why not go to the famous Temple Bar itself. Entertainment starts at around 1100 AM and continues until around 2 in the morning. Be warned that on Weekends this bar is packed even at mid-day and very noisy. The first time we were there there were several bachelorette or "hen" parties going on and the women were definitely having a good time. Entertainment is normally a single guitar player singing a mixture of Irish ballads and rock tunes from the 1970-1980s. Very good and lots of fun listening to him and also people watching. Went back here several times during our stay in Dublin and the pub was a little more subdued at mid-day during the week. I did not try their food but the sandwiches I saw looked good and the person at the next table from us said his tasted good. A pint of beer and a glass of wine cost 15 euros.

“Best night of the trip!”
Reviewed 5 June 2014

This place is just great, i can't deny it! Me and my friend went for an innocent explore of Temple Bar and happened to stumble across it around midday. We went in there for a drink and lunch (the toasted sandwiches are so nice! we shared between two of us and we were full).
Clearly, this got out of hand as live music started to play and the cider started flowing. 5:30pm, 6 litres of cider later and a little drunk, we stumbled back to the hotel for dinner with my friends' parents. We then returned to The Temple Bar at 8pm ready for the live music and drinks again. We stayed until the end (2am) and managed to stumble home (yet again!).
We went on a friday night and it was packed! We stood up for the entire evening, but the great music resulted in us dancing so it wasn't an issue.
The one thing we found is that everybody there was friendly, the staff and the general public. Being served didn't take as long as expected.
The only issue was the cost - although it's free entry, you pay the price in the cost of drinks! I'd say cider is the best (for a girl who doesn't drink guiness or anything other than spirits and cider). I ordered a double vodka mixer which came to 9 euros - I never made this mistake again! You can always pre-drink!
Unfortunately, we went there again on Saturday and we weren't allowed in as we were under 21. On the Friday we were lucky as the man on the door was being sympathetic, but a warning to those under 21 that you might not be so lucky, and definitely not on a Saturday!
Overall, a fantastic place :)
