What a delightful evening - we walked to the restaurant in July evening sunshine and we were met by very friendly staff, seated and attended to with grace and decorum. Our early evening menu was tasty and great value - I started with prawns and followed wit hsummer vegetable risotto, my husband opted for beef for a main and rhubarb fool for dessert. All was superbly presented and delicious. House wine was South African - a little on the expensive side but manageable. Overall, I would recommend a visit.

We had a very intimate family christening here. The dining area was lovely, bright and private just off the main restaurant : beside the bar looking out to the outdoor terrace and by the windows. We had a 3 course lunch menu and The food was excellent. Our waiter was Neno and he looked after us so well from the moment we arrived to the moment we left and took any pressure off. The wine was also excellent. I would highly recommend the bijou for any special occasion or large group booking. It boutique decor and vibe and personal touch made our day so special. Particularly thanks to Neno, Martin and Deeraij.

We live near Bijou and every so often think we really should try other local restaurants, but it is so consistently good that we don't. We go to the city centre and the Camden St area of course, but If you are in the Rathgar area don't miss this place. The food is delicious and the staff have big personalities and are really helpful and professional. Grab a table by the window and watch the world go by. Avail of their special offers, currently two courses for Eur20 and you will be amazed at the value for money. Love the fish and chips. Do book though, because this place is very popular.

Found ourselves on a beautiful summers evening in the leafy environs of Rathgar with a visit to Bijou booked in advance. We were given a delightful table at the front window (a must for people watching!). Lovely buzzy atmosphere which envelopes you immediately..... the service was impeccable, the food first rate. We decided to go for the early bird, nice choice, excellent value.
A return visit is most definitely on the cards.

Six of us visited this restaurant on a Friday evening and were impressed by the service and the quality of the food. We had a table close to the kitchen and this added to the interest. I had a huge bowl of mussels, friends had steaks, fish and pasta dishes. The waitress was surprised that I was able to eat all of the mussels. The restaurant seemed to be fully booked and the staff coped well. Our friends were so impressed that we booked again for the Monday evening. The staff were different but the service was just as good as Friday and the food was prepared to the same high standard. We were just too late to take advantage of the early bird menu, nevertheless the value was good. The steak was delicious again. As Monday was quieter we had a relaxing time just chatting after the meal. Recommended.
