“Great place and food, no reservations”
Reviewed 9 February 2014

I went for a brunch with my boyfriend. The restaurant does not accept reservations so you just have to show up and hope there is a free table. Nonetheless, the food was very good, and the service attentive. We had sausages, chicken liver pate, and creme caramel. All very good.

“Satisfying good food with decent service”
Reviewed 8 February 2014 via mobile

Had dinner here with two pals on a rainy Thursday night - no booking needed , menu not extensive but all food top quality. Shared a charcuterie board between us with lovely toasted bread to accompany salamis prosciutto and soft and hard cheeses - yum!
Two of us had pan fried fillets of brill which was two generous fillets sitting on tasty veg and surrounded with quartered potatoes and very tasty. Third person had sirloin steak - thoroughly enjoyed - all enjoyed very nice Albariño - deffo will return again

“Good food, but no reservations”
Reviewed 12 January 2014 via mobile

We were a party of six, on a three night trip celebrating my husband's big birthday. This was our first evening, and we chose the restaurant because of good food reviews. The no reservations was a pain as a group of six, making us eat earlier than might otherwise have

been the case, and I don't think we would do this again. I also concur with an earlier reviewer who commented negatively about a mandatory service charge.

All that said, our food experience was mixed. The soup was just about warm enough and unexceptional in flavour, while the mushroom risotto that our daughter selected from a typically limited veggie options French menu, was just too cold to bear. This was, however, rectified quickly. As a veggie myself, I chose the savoury tart tatin and it was superb.

Between us we ordered across the menu, but overall, the conclusion was that the food was ok, somewhat disappointing, and fairly expensive too. We did better on our subsequent evenings, and because we were able to book at other venues, we were far more relaxed on arrival.

“Great food, great wine!”
Reviewed 11 January 2014

We had walked around for a while trying to get lunch for a decent price. As our fist time in Dublin we weren't sure where to start! After about half an hour of walking around Grafton street area we came across this and just went for it! Turned out to be a great meal - pulled pork sandwich with the best chips we've had in a while!! Thanks!
