Description: Kimchi Hophouse is the only place in Dublin where customers can find authentic Korean food and drinks including Soju and Korean beer. All staff are Korean, including our chefs and owners. Kimchi is a restaurant and Hophouse is an adjacent bar formally called The Shakespeare Bar. We're located in central Dublin city, at the top of O'Connell Street, just around the corner from the historic Gate theatre.

We'd made a reservation but inserted the wrong date in our e-mail. Kimchi made sure to contact us by 'phone to ensure we'd not made a mistake. The same care and attention was apparent when we went for an early evening Saturday meal. We enjoyed the Kimchi pancake and Calamari with Sesame. Our mains - Beef Teryaki and Bibimbap with beef - were tasty and hearty. Very good value on quality French wine. Nice and pleasant service notwithstanding a steady increase in clientele that evening.

Kimchi is located in so called Dublin's China town. It is in Parnell Street. They have tasty food. The place is clean and staff very friendly. Food is very good. Everybody is smiling so you can really relax and enjoy your meal. It is worth visiting. They offer something different to typical Asian restaurants. Pop in and try.

This restaurant/bar (the owners basically bought a rough old bar and split it in two - I prefer the bar part, they serve the same meals there) is a long standing part of the rough and ready Parnell Street scene. I'm not qualified to judge how good the food is by Korean standards, but I've been told by Koreans that its pretty good and very 'genuine'. I find it very good straightforward and excellent value comfort food - I'm particularly fond of their Soondooboo broth (a kind of tofu stew). The staff are really nice and charming - mostly Korean students. The bar has a really neat mix of customers - its not unusual to see super cool and trendy young Asian kids chatting away to old Dublin guys nursing their Guinness at the bar. On that subject, while the choice of beers is disappointing, the price is very good, especially when ordered by the jug.

This restaurant nearly shares the physical space with a pub, which seem to be owned by the same people, so the noise can be quite loud. Food and service are so so.

We went to Kimchi for lunch. I ate tofu bibimbap (vegetarian) and banohan and there was a plenty to eat in it. Everything was yummy and it cost only about 10€ altogether. The staff was very friendly too. Very nice place to go and good options for vegetarians! :)
