“Good price good quality”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 August 2014 via mobile

i always worry when i see really such reasonable prices in an italian restaurant but this joint is affordable and good quality. aubergine bake (great tomato sauce!) for starters and pizza for main, both were excellent. The owner served us and was very cheery and down to earth. good espresso too!

“No idea how to make a pasta sauce”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 August 2014 via mobile

Looked in at luch time and saw a busy vibrant atmosphere so we looked forward to our evening meal. Waitress very attentive & helpful and the atmosphere with our seat near the window was good. The 2 diet cokes were rather flat so didn't come from a fresh bottle. Our request for some tap water was promptly met with 2 glasses. Our shared starter of a crostini was cheese on toast with a layer of tomatoe that lacked any sophistication and the accompanying salad garnish was a bland mix if shredded carrot, lettuce leaf and raw white onion: I suspect most people usually leave there's on the side. Main course of 2 pasta dishes were eagerly awaited. A seafood pasta & a porcini pasta. Both were basically some basic ingredients smothered in cream . Come on, there was no stock flavouring and the seasoning was non existent. We thought afterwards that some fresh lemon squeezed over the top may have helped.
So you really need to get your pasta right, a cream sauce needs to exude with a base stock flavour to which the cream is added just to add a slight lift.
Come on, there is something wrong with the chef if this is the standard of your service.

“An Italian restaurant in Ireland”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 August 2014

We had a good lunch without a reservation on an evening in 2011 and the service was good.
The Pizza we got was good but nothing really special. It was a good restaurant with a lot of different wine. The restaurant had a good smell, when you came in.

“Good value, great food, lovely coffee”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 July 2014

One of life's little mysteries is why this place is not busier for breakfast? The one I had (poached eggs, coffee and toast) was excellent. Freshly prepared as you might expect with such a simple meal it was the extra touch of a few grilled mushrooms and half a juicy grilled tomato that were a pleasant surprise. The pleasantly strong coffee that came with it helped make it a decent meal to start the day with.
