“Perfect for a single traveller”
Reviewed 4 August 2014 via mobile

Was attending the Convention centre, and, travelling alone, this hotel could not have been better. A short stroll over the river from the bus stop for the airport bus, and about £45/night for B&B is pretty awesome value. The room was small but perfectly adequate, and to get a cooked breakfast was very pleasing as well. Overall, this isn't an especially flashy place, but for its location and price, you really can't complain at what you get for your money, especially as a lone traveller. Rating: 8/10, within its class.

When my family and I first stepped off the bus from the airport, we spotted The Ferryman easily across the Samuel Beckett Bridge...a red-bricked wonder amongst the glass, metal, and concrete surfaces of its neighbors. The outside and inside of the pub were charming and the people in the pub we spoke with were very pleasant and helpful. Our room was on the third floor and opened out above the street and pub front. Quite noisy, but then again we were there during the start of the World Cup. Friday night seemed to be the most popular night (people going home from work?)...lots of people at the pub and noise until very late. Breakfast was good, but limited options. The hotel is in walking distance to city center (about 20 minutes). Conveniences: 1) if you are using the Hop-On/Off buses to get around, there is a bus pick up right around the corner; and 2) pub downstairs, enough said.

Room Tip: Lots of noise with street-front rooms, but they also have a great view of the river, Samuel Beckett...

As the title goes, you get what you pay for. The room was tiny and because we where at the front of the hotel we had the noise from the street. As we are a young couple this didnt bother us to much because we had a late night anyway but the room was clean and there was enough hot water for the two of us. The location is nice and close to the city centre and temple bar, its also great if your going to a concert in the o2 because its so close.

Stayed 3 nights at the Ferryman, great hotel very friendly staff and owners. Great location walking distance to Dublin centre. 5 of us shared 2 rooms very clean and decent size stayed in rooms at the front of hotel over the bar thought it would be very noisy, but not a problem. View of the conference centre at night was amazing. Breakfast served in the beautiful living room, nothing too much trouble for staff, treated more like family than guests. Definately going again.

We only stayed for a pint while walking round the dockland area.
The music was good, the service was excellent and of course, the Guinness exceptional. There were a few others in eating and the food looked good. We didn't eat, we just watched the world go by.

We stayed here on a girls trip last weekend. The three of us had single rooms and these were located at the back of the premises. They were spotlessly clean and tidy and of a good size all things considered. The shower had plenty of hot water and again was spotless. We worried that we may have been kept awake by the noise from the bar but had no such trouble. Once through the fire doors you could not hear a thing. The dining staff were brilliant especially Noleen :O) but all of them were so welcoming. The Irish breakfast was beautifully presented, plentiful and well cooked, we thoroughly enjoyed it. Bar staff were very polite and helpful. One of us has already booked their next stay in August. The bar was lively and had a great atmosphere. We will all be definately going back again and again. Brilliant place!

Great river location, cool pub and super easy to walk to most of the Dublin attractions. I would go back. It just had a great atmosphere. We took the train to another part of Ireland and it was also within walking distance. They don't have food at the pub in the hotel however or they didn't at the time we were there.

Room Tip: Get River side if you can!
