End of August we had a one night stay at Ophira's Bed and Breakfast.
John was still up at midnight waiting for us, we had a late flight to Dublin, thank You!.
The airport bus transfer worked well as described on the home page, just check with the driver to get off at the right place as there is no announcement or indication on board!
The place is clean, comfortable just like home. John noticed that we were maybe on the wrong port to board our cruise ship, thank you for being so helpful!
The port, bus stations, pubs, shops, beaches all situated in walking distance, the perfect place to stay in Dun Laoghaire!

Friendly, comfortable, convenient...and probably the best breakfast in Ireland! John and Kathy couldn't be more helpful, or more friendly! John even gave us the best way to drive to Newgrange, the neolithic site, missing all the Dublin city center traffic! Everything is within easy walking distance--the waterfront, the Dart, and some really good restaurants! And walking along the promenade to Sandy Cove with a Teddy's ice cream cone is a perfect end to any evening! John and Cathy and their guest house are all the reasons thatvyoubstay in a bed and breakfast instead of a hotel. Can't recommend the Ophira highly enough!

I was traveling with three female family members and was in Ireland for a "gathering" (promotion for Irish families to gather in Ireland) We spent two nights there in their historic house and Kathy and John were very helpful and accomidating. It was within walking distance of the pier and shopping district of Dun Laoghaire. Thanks

We enjoyed our stay here. The room was clean, comfortable, and spacious. Our hosts were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was a delight. The location, a quiet side street, was perfect for access to the village. We walked all over town easily and safely. Our hosts recommended a pub nearby for dinner which was a good choice.

First trip to Ireland and boy were we happy to come across this place in the Rick Steve's travel book. They make you feel like you are part of their family. The rooms were very clean, the house is well kept and the breakfasts are great. We would recommend highly!!

My husband and I stayed at Ophira for 3 nights in May 2012. We really enjoyed our stay. John was an excellent host and he cooked up a delicious breakfast every morning. The room was plenty large for what we needed and the bed was the most comfortable one we encountered during our 10 day tour of Europe. The shower also had plenty of warm water, which is always a good thing! We stayed in Dun Laoghaire instead of Dublin to save money and to be right on the water. We really loved walking around the harbor. The DART is very convenient to the B&B, so it was easy to get to Dublin for sight-seeing, though the fares were more expensive than expected, which sort of off-set the savings we had by staying outside of town.

The room was a little cold when we first arrived, but John got it warmed up by the time we returned that night. He was able to give us great directions to get into Dublin using the DART. Beds, room, attached bathroom was all very nice. My only complaint about staying here was that there wasn't too much of anything around that was open past 6. We took the DART back from Dublin to find a very sleepy little city, when we were expecting to find some pubs and music. Its nice to stay outside of Dublin if you want to save some money, but I enjoyed staying in town for the convenience of walking to the sites we were visiting.
