“Excellent view of the stage from any seat in the theatre”
Reviewed 19 October 2013

This theatre is a great venue and a wonderful asset for Dun Laoghaire. Free online booking or visit the theatre box office during the day to buy tickets, open till 5pm. Reasonably priced, 18 euros full price, or 16 euros for senior, student or unwaged when I visited in October 2013. All the seats are priced the same. Varied programme.
Large foyer to have a drink and/or meet with friends before and during the show.
The stage is on floor level as is the first row, then the seats are raked so the audience has an excellent view of the stage wherever they sit, even those at the top in the single row that runs along the side of the theatre. The seats at the side swivel and resemble chairs in a hairdresser with a metal bar to rest your feet on because they are raised off the floor. The seats in the main area have adequate leg room but if you require additional leg room choose Row H or the front row.
I sat on the end of Row F but moved to three seats in on the front row after the interval as there was a draught on my shoulders but I was no better off on the front row. I recommend taking a scarf or shawl in case this breeze from the air conditioning was not a one off. This is the reason my rating is a 4.
The staff and volunteers are very pleasant and helpful. Check out the theatre website to see what's on if you are visiting Dun Laoghaire - www.paviliontheatre.ie

“Varied, Interesting, Well-Done Performances of All Types”
Reviewed 27 August 2013

We have been attending performances at the Pavilion Theatre since we moved into the area last year. We have seen excellent drama, wonderful musical sets of many kinds, innovative dance, fun movies and local events made accessible to the community. The management does a great job of varying the program and administering the details; the prices are great, providing value for your investment; the artists and companies involved are high caliber.

“Theatre on our doorstep”
Reviewed 2 August 2013

Since the Pavilion set up in Dun Laoghaire, we have gone as often as possible. Sure, it is great to attend theatre in the city centre but it is fantastic to have such a great space as this in Dun Laoghaire. The quality of the programme is consistently good. Have been twice in June, once in July...let's see what's next!!!

“Great experience”
Reviewed 31 July 2013

It is wonderful to have a theatre that is so accessible to those not wishing to go into Dublin city center. The artistic level of the productions is extremely high and the program is varied to suit many tastes and age groups. Friendly and professional staff.

“Seats too hard”
Reviewed 22 July 2013

This is one of Dublin's suburban theatres. Everything about it is very good, staff, bar etc except that the seats are really uncomfortably hard and covered with material that would scratch the legs off you. We were there on a summer evening so I was wearing shorts. If it is a long show I would bring my own cushion. The play was Des Keogh's 'The Love Hungry Farmer' and is was excellent.
