We stayed here for 2 nights and really enjoyed it. Check-in was meant to be 2pm but we arrived on an early flight and were able to check in 3 hours early which was very convenient.

The room was spacious and homely but there were marks on the wall and the bed covering that had been overlooked on maintenance. There was an annoying buzzing noise when the card was in to turn the electricity on which meant we had to leave it off overnight, and the noise from the adjoining room was unbearable on our first night. However, after mentioning it at reception the next morning we were informed that the people were checking out and any issues could be dealt with at the time should such an occurrence arise again.

Breakfast was good but the service was poor. The staff were incredibly reluctant to come over to the table which meant exaggerated waving was required to get their attention. We weren't asked if we wanted tea or coffee when we sat down on the first morning, but this was better on the second day.

The overall decor of the hotel is fabulous, the cafe area is bright and comfortable and the bar has a friendly atmosphere. The pool was lovely and we especially enjoyed the hydro pool. We thought the compulsory swimming hats could have been free of charge rather than having to purchase one to swim, but other than that the facilities were pleasant and well maintained.

An enjoyable stay, we would recommend this hotel and would consider staying again.

We have just returned from a two night break here. We were met at reception by a very friendly concierge named Leo who directed us to reception where we checked in. I had pre booked a cot for the room for our 19 month old and it was all set up for us when we got there. Unfortunately the cot did not appear to have a mattress on it, just the base and a sheet over that. Thankfully as we were staying in a friend's house after our stay in the Royal Marine so we had a cot mattress in our car. So I went down to the car park and got it. I informed them at reception of the lack of mattress but one never appeared. To make matters worse for us, I forgot to bring our mattress back which meant we had to return to the hotel to collect it. Quite an inconvenience. However, not really the hotel's fault. I might suggest though that they supply mattresses with their travel cots. The beds for the grown ups, however, are amazing. So comfy. We ate early in the bar each evening. Our toddler can be quite the handful but the staff were very attentive and helpful in dealing with us. Dun Laoighaire is a nice town, quite baby friendly with parks and play areas. I took our toddler to the pool and he enjoyed it.. again the staff in the leisure centre were friendly and helpful. The breakfasts were good too. So all in all, bar the travel cot issue, we enjoyed out little getaway. I'd happily recommend to a friend.

Stayed here actually 3 nights on a 10 night trip to Ireland. Our favorite hotel while visiting there. Had a nice HD screen TV and a restaurant, pub on main floor. Easy to get a bus into town also stops every where and many restaurants within walking distance. Desk attendants were extremly helpful and couteous and the breakfast was excellent.

Just back from a short break with Granny and two kids, we had a wonderful time. rooms were clean. staff very friendly and helpful. Disappointed with the arraingment of the pool, although a lovely pool it was sectioned off for lane swimmers ( one large lane and one small lane) which left families to bob around like sardines. This to me was unacceptable as families only have two hours in the afternoon to swim, we had to be out be 5pm way too early as the pool did stay open untill 10pm. I felt we should at least be allowed to stay till 6pm, we are paying the same as everyone else.over all though would recommend this hotel, prime spot too for a lovely walk on the pier.

We have just returned from staying two nights at this excellent hotel. This was our first time in Dun Laoghaire and we will certainly return. The town itself is lovely with a great range of tasteful shops, cafes and restaurants. The hotel is perfectly located to enjoy the harbour and town, we had our two children (4 & 2) with us and to have a new play area at the bottom of the drive not to mention Peoples Park 200yds away was perfect. The hotel is spacious, modern and very clean with very attentive and courtious staff. We booked a sea view room on the advice of previous tripadvisor reviewers and the view from the large 6th floor room was fantastic. The pool facilities were really good for adults though probably not ideal for young children as there is no seperate childrens pool and the changing area floors stayed wet and slippy. We ate in Hardys Bar both nights and found the food to be very good and of reasonable value. We look forward to returning to this hotel again and would definately recommend it to anyone.

Room Tip: The 10euro supplement for a sea view room is worth every penny.

My parents bought a Living Social deal in the hotel and we decided to tag along and stay in a family room with our two little girls. I love this hotel - we have stayed here before and its definitely the best in the locality. Family room was enormous - we paid a premium to get it but it was well worth it for the comfort factor!! Fantastic breakfast and despite being insanely busy the staff did really well. Bar and restaurant are quite expensive but plenty of local options so that wasn't a problem for us. Great playgrounds nearby and Sunday market in the Peoples Park is a must. Only negative is how child unfriendly the pool is and we will just be more prepared next time (armbands etc!!). We will be back!!!

Room Tip: If possible a sea view is a must and the higher the better!

The Air Coach from the airport has pickup/drop off at the front door of the hotel. The older section of the hotel has 19th century charm. It is set high on a hill that looks out to the sea. Beautiful views. Internet access was good and inexpensive. The room was exceptionally clean and comfortable with separate shower and tub. Service was impressive and customer focused. As a guest, you have access to the fitness club on premises and access to a spa services! No time to try the spa for a massage, but did find my way to the sauna and pool. Refreshing way to end the day! Hours of operation are very good. The DART system is a very short walk so Dublin city centre is only minutes away. Dun Lagohaire is just beautiful filled with friendly people and wonderful restaurants. Minutes away from the big city, but here you can take your time to stroll by the sea or just relax. This place is a true gem whether on business or pleasure.
