“Wonderful Hotel”
Reviewed 12 July 2014

The Royal Marine Hotel provided us a restful, luxurious stay for two nights on our bus tour through Scotland/Ireland. We were delighted to find it within walking distance of some pubs, which got us out with the locals. We found the Royal Marine friendly, accommodating and offering good breakfasts.

Stayed 2 nights on coach tour.

A beautifully laid-out and appointed hotel with a great staff!

Great location, wonderful breakfast and (surprise!) a refrigerator in the room.

A little hard to navigate as it consists of 3 towers and lifts only go to certain sets of rooms, but I imagine you can easily get used to this after a couple days.

Altogether a great place to stay in this cosmopolitan city!

Room Tip: Some rooms have great views of the ay, some have balconies, some can only see the updraft. You may...

My family & I just returned from a lengthy stay. We loved the hotel! My family was upgraded to beautiful suites (thank you Hayley). Breakfast was great! Everyone was very nice and helpful. The front desk offers a wealth of knowledge about area. Upon arrival, we were very kindly greeted by Leo who was a true delight all week. Went above and beyond all week to make sure we were comfortable.

Can't wait to come back! Thanks for a great week!

We loved our stay at the Royal Marine. The rooms were well appointed and clean. The breakfast was wonderful. We had one dinner at the hotel and it was excellent. The staff was very attentive and personable. The last day we had to depart early for the airport (before breakfast) and they had coffee and some rolls in a little bag for us to take with us. BTW, the wake up calls were personal and not electronic. We liked that.

We just returned home from a 9 day trip to our mom's home town and what a great hotel it was. We can't say enough about Leo. He met us upon our arrival and he instantly felt like family.
He was kind, knowledgeable, hard working and warm. He is the best and we were all sad to say goodbye to him when we left. Another special employee is Jessica. She was very helpful to us with information about where to go and she even made change for the bus for a group of 14. Thanks for doing those extra things.

Nice hotel in lovely location overlooking Dublin bay. View is a bit marred by some council
modern effort at a building in front of the hotel. Hotel is busy and had 5 Tour buses parked outside. Restaurant was closed on a Friday night and an upper deck of the bar was being used as same bit unusual in peak season. Food however in the bar/restaurant was well priced and really excellent , as was the breakfast. I felt that paying 200 euros for a room and then being charged on top for breakfast in a hotel in the suburbs of Dublin was a bit steep. It is certainly a lovely "old world" hotel and the staff were courteous and helpful at all times.
Just a small comment on the doors in the hotel: obviously all the access doors on corridors are double fire doors but they are incredibly difficult to navigate through as many as five of these to get to your room. This is made all the more difficult when you have a baby buggy and luggage.
Perhaps the main access doors to the corridors etc should be left open?
Otherwise enjoyed the stay.

Want to see Dublin and the surrounding areas without being in Dublin proper? Choose this hotel. Its located in a very beautiful area and easily accessible by Dart. The hotel itself was very nice and the service could not have been better. We interacted with several of the hotel staff, and each was friendly and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. We would return without hesitation to this hotel.
