We have just returned from a 2 night stay at the Royal Marine. This was our 4th stay at the royal marine and I have to say we were very disappointed this time. Mainly because of the food. It was soooo bad. We ate in the bar on our first evening and it was so terrible. The chips were not edible. we ordered some room service the following evening and again it was awful. We could not eat it. Left a full tray of food outside our bedroom door.
I just can not understand how any chef can serve food that Isent up to scratch. I don't get it. We paid 100 euro on the bar food and the room service and we might as well have flushed it down the toilet.
Anyway on the plus side, breakfast was good with lots of choice. Staff are pretty friendly and our room was lovely and clean with very comfy beds. Dun Laoghaire is a lovely spot with everything you could need all very close.

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view

I was staying here with a friend for one night. We tried to check-in early but our room wasn't ready. However they did offer to call me when it was, and sure enough they did just that. We were able to check in a few hours earlier than normal which was nice.

The hotel has a nice interior. Our room didn't have a view, and the room was fairly basic but good enough. The bathroom was functional but nothing special.

I would probably stay here again as it has good transport links into the city and is very close to the centre of Dun Laoghaire which has good shops, bars and restaurants.

Really enjoyed this 2 day spa break. On arrival our room was upgraded to an executive room with a balcony. Our spa treatments were lovely and the spa and leisure centre are impressive. Dinner was tasty and breakfast was also nice. Truly an enjoyable stay in this Dublin gem.

This is a wonderful hotel with a lovely view of the ocean and ferris wheel from our balcony. The room was large with good air conditioning, iron, fridge, safe and separate tub and shower. The beds were very comfortable and the room was clean. The hotel entrance and lobby are beautiful.

It is not right in Dublin but there is a bus you can take to the city. As I was on a tour I did not use the bus but we were told it was a good service.

The area around the hotel seems to be suffering from the downfall in the economy with many closed shops and restaurants. We had our dinner at the hotel restaurant The Hardy. Food was good but a bit pricey. An excellent breakfast was included. I would stay here again.

We had a very pleasant weekend in this hotel . The public spaces are well maintained and our room was spacious with a great outlook over the sea, [it is worth getting a sea view], the hotel was busy and coped well, staff were all helpful, and the food was good. The hotel is in a, great location, close to the seafront, and 5 minutes from the DART station [ 25 minutes into central Dublin].

Room Tip: get a room with a sea view

Most comfortable hotel bed ever. Superb wifi. Friendly staff. The prices aren't cheap but they're fair. There was a damp problem in the ground floor corridor due to the rain. Balcony clean and great views. Breakfast excellent but no bran flakes

We were touring Ireland as part of a CIE Tour Group. We had 1 day to tour Dublin and this was a good location for our home base. The room was spacious and very clean. It did not have a view which was a little disappointing, but when you're touring in a group this is to be expected. I was told this hotel was a great place for weddings. (There was a wedding going on the night we stayed.) Our room was quiet which was greatly appreciated. Breakfast was very hearty and service was great. For a large hotel, I was very impressed with the service.
